OK, thanks for the info. I don't have access to the contact/support@pangolin emails, only the ScannerMAX emails, but our support department opens in 2-3 hours and they will get back to you quickly. Thanks,

Looks great Dave, nice and bright. Do you make your own Lumia rigs, or do you add lumia attachments to existing projectors? I keep on meaning to sort some lumia stuff as I've got a lot of Optikinetics projector gear.

I'm not sure because I don't have the unit in my hand. But you can check the link and tell instantly for yourself. These units fail in strange ways and not always consistently. Depends which cheap internal component failed first, and how. The flashing yellow indicates a general failure, and...

Before you spend any time trying to figure out the problem, check and see if its a counterfeit by looking at the pics on the link from Ryan, and contacting Pangolin with the serial number. If it is counterfeit do not assume that anything about the failure will be logical, and you may waste time...

Sounds like you have a counterfeit FB3. See the link below. http://pangolin.com/recognize-counterfeit-fb3-qs/ There is no repairing in, you have to buy a genuine unit from us at Pangolin or an authorized dealer. Let me guess, did this unit come from China? Aliexpress or EBay?

The driver has ceramic and electrolytic capacitors to suppress ripples. Did you measure 1-4W DPSS before or 200mW only? I feel 2W 638nm... Red has a weaker ability to burn the skin at the same power than blue and green wl

I would be lying if I had said I have not thought about doing this my self, I have hair is some areas that I want gone as well, I have used a laser to remove a black head my doctor could not get rid of, while it did work it's not something I would suggest another person do as it is dangerous. If the averaged power goes down, then the average current also goes down. 99% of regular multimeters show the average value of the current (up to several tens of kHz), for example at 50% PWM you will read 2 amps instead of 4 Just check the power supply voltage in AC mode. If this is not OK, you...

Usually the fibers would be 'fusion spliced' into a fiber combiner. For simple jobs where you just want to get a beam out of the fiber you can just cleave the fiber tip and then mount the fiber in some sort of collimator. For use in a laser marker it would probably be best to terminate the fiber in...

Ah, so that is what you meant by "AC wobble". Fair enough, I'll test both. Good that there is something to check for issues. Hope it is a signal issue rather than PSU issue though, those PSUs aren't cheap. PS. Any chance a capacitor before the driver would smooth the PSU spikes if there are any?

Viktor I've done an inventory now... I have 6 modules, each containing 56, 30 watt fiber pump diodes. I will definitely sell some as I have no need for so many. Likewise with the remaining parts of each assembly. Yesterday I removed a single diode, and fired it up with a 5v, 15a power...

Some people can't or don't want to go LEMs for various good reasons. A virtual LEM wouldn't replace a LEM but it could certainly augment them in some ways. For one thing, it immediately would solve geographic distance issues. I don't expect everyone to be interested in this but at the same time...

This. The appeal of a Laser Enthusiast's Meeting is not the lasers, it's the people. OK, lasers are what draws us together initially, but what KEEPS people coming back year after year are the friendships, the camaraderie, and the face-to-face, hands-on learning possibilities. It's pretty hard...
