Hey dhg6 I'm curious. It's been a few months since you purchased this laser. Would love to get your opinion on it. What are you using it for? Was it worth the money? I'm considering buying one; but right now I'm not sure. I can't find a lot of people posting or any great info on this...

You do generally need more power for outside shows to be effective. With your budget, the best bang for your buck is going to be one or two single green lasers. That may very well be cheaper than getting RGB. And a 5 watt green is well within your budget and afford an incredible wow factor. ...

That's basically some pretty typical numbers for an average garden variety projector. Not stellar but certainly not bad.

The light emitted by a laser is confined to a rather narrow cone. But, when the beam propagates outward, it slowly diverges or fans out. The goal is to have a beam stay tight for as far as possible since, lets face it, lasers look best from further away if you're viewing the beams. 1.2 is...

Nice work, matratzki. My approach http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/showthread.php/26580-Low-Cost-FB4-Case was more focused on minimizing size and cost. It is certainly not, the 'bomb proof' route you chose! :) -David

It was supplied by a company called 'Orange' who no longer seem to exist, and it was their most powerful laser, IIRC I...

What is you ratio for the expander? What is the beam size at aperture for a scanner. I.e. Like 6" or so offthe expander? That's some expansion to do that. Nice. Not that I'd want to burn anything but it could make for some really bright beams outside in red. Would like to see some beam shots....
