    Sorry to go off the topic here a bit, but I have a Lanling RGB projector with a 700mW 450nM diode and was wondering how difficult it would be to replace it with on of DTR NDB7675 diodes 1.6w 462nM? Also do you ship to South Africa?

    Yea I ship to SA. On your projector I am not familiar with how it is set up but I would bet it is possible. Maybe someone here with some experience with that model can let you know what you would be in for to swap it out

    Hi DTR thank you for the reply, I think the best thing to do would be to take a photo of the inside. I also noticed that Lasertack sell the ready made up module with prisms and driver, would that be a better option ?

    Jordan why not use a 50/50 beam splitter and then you can measure the power of the beam or a simple ND filter

    I'll meter the power directly and this will avoid any uncertainty due to sampling. I will also measure wavelength while measuring power by placing the spectrograph fiber in the scatter from the power head.

    I was just fiddling around and I built a graph of the diodes power output vs input and got the polynomial trend line (since if fit the data best).
    According to it the power at 5.5A might be 7.9 watts (7.931225 exactly)
    And of course this is assuming that the increase in power is consistent/predictable.

    The blue line is the data and the thin black line is the equation.

    y = -0.1192x^2 + 2.2559x - 0.873

    R^2 = 0.9996

    When ?
    Within a couple of days at most of the diodes arrival.

    Going off broadband for a week or two !
    What frequencies will you be monitoring? I'll ask my son to set up a transmission to you.

    How about Morse bouncing of the luna corner-cube-matrix thingamejig

    I have a great view of the moon from here

    Cheers

    PS just seen your square spatial filter on the Utub video, - bloody brilliant beats my pinprick in tin foil hands down.....adjustable and at a tenth of the price!
