Those look awesome, dazebtwn, thank you for sharing!! Looking forward to meeting you at SELEM 11!

Unfortunately, I don't have any cool abstracts to contribute at the moment. I do, however, have this new device I call the Color Crossfade circuit!

This is a great way to motivate me to never ever post anything in this thread ever again. Good job!

But seriously... holy cow. Those are awesome.

I love seeing the Z5 stuff and then trying to figure out how to do that - if its even possible - with frame based lissajous

No analog goodness here but I have been trying to emulate some creamy Laserium-style color mods in Beyond. Because this isn't analog, you can see the 8-bit resolution in the color fades, and damn if I couldn't get a decent picture tonight. I tried a bunch of different exposure/aperture settings to no avail. Anyway, I am trying to get a "morié" look. While not analog and with only one scan head running, it still looked great in person. These were the best pics I could manage.

Still a great go at it! So many people have pushed lasers to do things that they are bad at (raster and animations). I think it is great when people push the newer tools to do what laser does very well. Color is tough when the system only does 8 bit and so many steps are thrown away for pallets, especially when fighting the turn on point and non-linearity of the diode-based systems.

Photography is so tough with lasers. You have to use a great camera and really work the settings. even then, it often doesn't capture the true nature of the imagery's motion or any sense of development.

I've been patching a bit and I'll have to post some gems later once it gets darker in here.

Here are a few low-quality phone pics of some simple/recent patches in DigiSynth. Neither the static view or quality of the camera capture the true nature of laser abstracts, but I hope you will enjoy.

Thanks! I have been playing around with it for a while now. I am trying to get live color controls just right but it's still hit and miss.

Great stuff, just wish the price would drop on digisynth since last I check the product was no longer being developed. Has this changed?
