Lightbulb RayComposer - a new laser show software for Windows & Mac OS X

    Hi Laserists,
I've never written about RayComposer here at Photonlexicon before - I think I should do that now
since RayComposer has been seen outside in the wild for a few weeks now.

RayComposer is a completely new developed set of tools to create laser and multimedia shows.
It is cross-platform: you can use it on windows and mac os x.

    Animation Editor
    is the drawing tool.

    -fully object oriented editor
-engine and tools are completely based on bezier curves; never worry again how many corners a circle should have!
    -unique handling of color gradients
    -3D drawing with switchable views
    -layers
-lots of drawing tools; waves, spirals, arcs, etc...
-all true type fonts & single line laser fonts
    -masking

    Timeline Editor
here you compose the show together.

-3D laser show preview: show each laser once or several times; move around or rotate the projectors
-move laser beams around with your mouse in the 3d preview directly to create key frame animations!
-hierarchical timeline; create groups of tracks
-lots of effects: usual ones like movement, scale, rotation, but also cool new ones like twirl, gradients, rotated copies...
-run cue lists to control complex dmx rigs
-multimedia-ready: drop audio files, still images or videos on the timeline and playout to a video projector
    -audio vizualisation using spectrogram
-timecode synchronization (Clock, MTC, LTC, ArtNET)
    -video export

    Projector Mapping
easily allows you to manage large arrays of projectors.

-control how each bus is mapped to the projector with adjustable geometry and intensities for each mapping
-attenuate areas in the laser output
-map colors to up to six laser sources
-adjust linearity and color shift of each laser separately

    DMX Console
    runs your lighting rig.

    -selective presets (LTP/HTP intensities)
    -groups & presets
    -tracking cue lists
-custom fade curves and transition delays
-patch fixtures to one or several address,
    -ArtNET support; unlimited universes
    -fixture library with pre-made fixtures
-fixture editor to create your own fixtures

    RayComposer USB
    is our ILDA DAC.

    -USB High Speed 480MBps
    -200kpps
-16Bit resolution XY, 12 Bit resolution color channels
    -6 color channels
-integrated sd card flash storage 4GB
    -DMX intput
    -DMX output
    -Open API

When you have one of our USB interfaces, you can use the Professional version of RayComposer - it includes the license key.
For pricing/shipping please contact me at info@raycomposer.de

Download & try the free Designer's Edition today:
    RayComposer Designer's Edition - Windows, x86

no more lasers for you until you eat your broccoli!
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

I just had to look up in the dictionary what "brussels sprouts" are. Ah - Rosenkohl. You probably know now I'm not a vegetarian.

    Great work; looks nice!

Are there any plans for Ethernet connectivity? Or does it work with any other ethernet based DACs?

I currently only offer it with the USB DAC which also serves as the license/dongle - it really has extraordinary performance, better then any ethernet DAC.
I don't plan to support third party hardware in RayComposer; the DAC has an API though.

I understand, however if we were to use it in a show environment, ethernet functionality is a must (long cable runs to FOH, and large numbers of DAC's networked stage side etc.)
I'm aware of the proper USB-Cat5 adapters, but just wondered if any ethernet models would follow; not to worry.

    Thanks,
    Dan

Does it have a real time mode with Hotkeys?
