    Default Steampunk Lumia Lamp

This is the start of a Lumia build for a mate in the US. In turn he is making me a Steampunk desk lamp featuring a 30s Mopar carby.

I have mounted a 445 with G2 lens in an Axiz head that theads into 12mm copper tube. Brass rings hide the head and provide a focus ring.

The blue laser is aimed at a 12mm copper elbow with a 10mm FS mirror glued inside. This redirects the beam up and through the lumia wheel.

A 658nm red module with he mounted vertically below the lumia wheel.

Tons of 2,3,4,5mm brass tubing to punk it out and a few LED illuminated chambers etc and a few gauges.

A small Switch Mode PSU, drivers and maybe a Nano Arduino to provide some randomness to colours.

Deliberately not designed start to end, more of dablle and let the creative juices take control.

Will post more as the build progresses.

Yeah, I have to admit, this is a cool little project. Looking forward to watching it develop.

Edit: I all also admit this made me Google and research the term and history of, "Steampunk". I'd heard the term but never really knew exactly what it was supposed to refer to.

Wouldn't it be cool if somehow you could somehow rig an electronic cigarette into it so that it had real "steam" coming out?

That would be easy. And I have tons of vaporizers as a vaper myself. I was thinking some gear works. Thanks for the idea!

I spinning governor would be cool....

EDIT: I have been experimenting with copper/brass aging methods too. Good fun!
