Take the time to call Aaron B. If you can, before you run it. . Runt ultrashort pulses of the kind used in that laser will do enormous damage to an optic or crystal if miss-aligned.

Why only two? Like I often tell people at work.... I like having backups for backups.

Hey Steve: Jeff has been in touch with Aron about both of his Jenlas units. Unknown yet if they are repairable or not though. Aron knows the history of a few of the units that made it to the USA; trying to bounce serial numbers around and see if that tells him anything. Jeff has not opened the sealed optical deck yet, and hopefully will not need to. In fact, he has not even powered up the pump diodes yet. (Need to do some more research first.) Assuming these units have not been catastrophically damaged, Aron said they could probably be brought back to life.

At this point some more researching needs to be done, but both Jeff and Aron are very busy. Still, it's very possible that we could see one of these things actually operating at SELEM this year. More details to follow once further research (and some troubleshooting) can be done.

    Adam
