    Default Early Laser Party

Here's a blast from the past for Throwback Thursday; it's an invitation and notice for a the Laser Ball, a party thrown in Detroit in May of 1970 featuring the laser light projections and holograms of Lloyd Cross and Allen D. Lyte. These items were donated to the collection here by Don Broadbent who was there at the time. Don was one of the first employees at Trion Instruments, the first company formed to make pulsed lasers (ruby) by Lloyd Cross and Don Gillespie (later at Jodon, then Eldon). He may have been the first laser technician. Certainly one of the first. Anyway, this party has been left to the dust bin of history until today! Sonovision projectors and ion lasers I'd imagine.

So, would this be the first LEM?? DLEM, perhaps? Nice find. Thank you for sharing this bit of history!
If you're the smartest person in the room, then you're in the wrong room.

Maybe the first time a laser show was put on for a private event.
