I haul dj & laser gear in my 1964 Econoline 8 Door Van. I have owned it since 2010 at 10,100 miles and just hit 11,300 miles recently. Straight 6 and gets about 22mpg!

I had a 1967 Econoline that I used to start my dj business back when I was in college around 1990. This was the staging area for a Mardi Gras parade.

I used to carry dj gear in this custom(frankenstein) creation pulled by my 2000 Silverado. Notice that it goes to 11. These two have been long gone. Silverado struggled to get 15mpg.

I haul my kids in my Escape Hybrid. Avgerages 35mpg. It was my daily driver since new in 2008, but now it is used only a few times a month when I need to bring both kids somewhere.

My 2002 daily driver since 2015. Engineering pays better than DJing. Most days I only bring one kid to school so we fit in this. Talk about poor fuel mileage - 13-15mpg if i drive very conservatively, which is almost impossible. 12mpg is more realistic.

    Very nice. Like the color.

My best friend in high school had one that was "egg plant purple" and was a bunch of fun. He blew up the motor and it had been in his mom's garage since about 1990 until she sold it 5 yrs ago at her garage sale for $500. Body, interior and paint in good driver condition, just needed motor rebuild. He had been driving his early 70s Bronco and was going to rebuild the Ghia "one day." He was quite pissed when his mom called him and told him she had $500 for him.

$500 would be a steal. That's less than the price of a Ghia bumper these days.

Thanks. I used to try to go to all of the local VW shows but I haven't had the time lately. When I lived in Austin I went to that huge one Fredricksburg a couple of times. Have you been to that one?
