... I've built some simple drivers for "firestar V30" types of RF-lasers from Synrad (shouldn't be very different to Coherent's) - it needs a "tickle-pulse" for pre-energizing, what was then around 5kHz with 1 microsecond pulse-duration - then the power controlling was the same, as with my diode-modules - pulses with duration of 5 to 400 microseconds for power setting of 0 to 100 percents, with "speed-dependant" pauses between them ...

i've got a spare laser cutter controller that will work with RF tubes... there's just a thousand miles between the controller and the tube.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

... I'm using "standard" CNC-controllers or electronics from 3D-printers for my laser-engravers or -cutters ... and modifying the controlling softwares or firmwares too for my needs.

Built my first CO2-laser-cutter as complete DIY around 1990 -- and since then bult or modified some ten for different companies and projects, and have now several of the different types (standard cartesian, XY-galvo-scanner, XY-servo-scanner ... with CO2-, diode- or fiber-lasers) in my basement

I know I mentioned Skyping this weekend but I've come down with a head cold and don't have the energy to pull everything out right now on top of the other chores I've had to do. Once the weather gets worse I'll have more time, so we'll do it another weekend.

If anyone wants to Skype today, give me a pm.

Here are two more CO2 lasers. These are large and water cooled. I think they are 30 and 60 watts. 4 foot and 6 foot. I don't even plan on trying to turn these by myself. Does anyone know what they're worth? Anyone in Ohio want to try to turn them on and measure them?

I noticed http://www.laserresale.com on some of the boxes. Is that a good route to go to sell?

those are pretty standard chinese glass tubes. they have a finite shelf life, even if unused.
