Default solidstate galvo alternative and line size device

    http://www.optotune.com/products/bea...irror-mr-15-30

looks promising. 50 degrees of deflection. Didn't list speed.

they also make a tunable lens so you can start adding in line width to graphics. Not a new idea but now a repeatable idea sans motors.

no idea of cost. I was actually looking for electronic controlled lumia that you can design the pattern.

I think it's too slow to replace conventional galvos:
    Full scale bandwidth 20 Hz
    Small signal bandwith 350 Hz
Large angle step response (20° step) 7.5 ms
Small angle step response (0.1° step) 1.4 ms

The site does mention engineering samples are available, might be worth getting one to try.

Not a patch on pangolin scanners, but they might not be as fussy as to who they sell to

optotune have done a thing with sollinger at a tradeshow where they used a laser projector with the optune module.. it just gets wired to a spare color channel and controlled that way. They are quite fast but not fast enough by any means.
Very little effects will be useable + they will set you back almost 2 grand.

Instead of defocusing the beam the beam is focused further on the galvos meaning they diverge faster once going out of the projector to get the beam to size.
