Judging by the budget that goes to these clips I wouldn't be surprised if they used 64 individual 1W projectors. But here's a better idea: projector facing down, polygonal mirror in shape of a cone, then bounce mirrors guiding the beams down surrounding the cone in a circular fashion. Has anyone done that? I think it would be cool although would require very accurate positioning and programming of the beam animation. That said, still probably cheaper than 64 individual projectors.
