You should look at the TMC2209/TMC2130 stepper drivers, pin compatible to the A4988 drivers but do up to 1/256 microstepping and are silent due to the StealthChop feature (removes the common stepper whine noise)

Just a heads up. The "one minute" refers to the working time not the cure time. You still need to let the epoxy cure completely before running the galvos. Otherwise the mirrors will move...

Yeah I was using alcohol so maybe that's the problem too to clean them and I was using fingernail polish to try to glue them in so now I have broke both the new mirrors trying to adjust things now that I have the galvo out I've ordered new mirrors and I got a one minute setting JB weld epoxy I'm...

It also sound like the alignment may be off a little. If it was the X mirror you replaced, it may not be hitting the Y mirror squarely. This can cause some abberations that make the scanner image look fuzzy. Also make sure your mirrors are clean. Try to avoid using IPA (alcohol) to clean optics....

I appreciate all the help. I’m going to check the resistance of each leg, meter all the fuses, probably pull the contactor and clean/grease it. Also, remove an additional set old cam lock connectors that were suspect and severely tarnished.

Thanks, David! They are most likely the same steppers. I think Adam bought a few after I reviewed them in this thread: https://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/showthread.php/28971-Low-RPM-motor-solution-finally! They work very well when paired with microstepping drivers. Either the A4988 or...

That looks awesome, absolom! I wonder if these are the same stepper motors that Buffo was showing off at a previous SELEM. They were quite impressive, could not see the stepping at all. Glad to see some DIY still going on out there! *DZ

After all the hype I gave to those DMX to stepper controllers that I posted about previously, I found that once I pushed myself to get a little more comfortable with Arduino coding, it was far cheaper and way more customizable to just use an Arduino. This would require an A4988 motor controller...

It has been too long since I have updated this thread. Like a lot of my projects, they are normally never finished. I work on them when I get the urge. A lot of the fun for me is the journey, not the destination. Anyway... updates! I finally decided to strip out the old DC motor gearboxes and...

Bad news. My manual for the "Housekeeping" board does not have the phase sensing for each phase. They do it another way at 208. Your looking for three dual optocouplers, six plain optocouplers, or three to six miniture transformers. Otherwise they just monitor the DC voltage at the filter and...

I'm selling my two Laserworld DS-2400 RGB laser projectors. Selling these two units together as a package. I've got them set up in my loft as projectors #2 and #4, so they're referred to accordingly. I think projector #4's red diode got some use in a past life because although the color is still...

Thanks Steve. I was looking through all the manuals I have and I was able to find a complete Innova 100 Series service manual. Honestly, I have no idea where it came from. It’s a monster 3 ring binder. It has detailed diagrams and schematics of power supply and laser head. It is somewhat similar to...

I have a service manual for its non-white-light cousins 208V version . My guess that 60-80% will be the same. Photocopying is well neigh impossible, as the manual is several hundred pages with some odd sized foldouts. It probably weights 10-12 pounds. Manual was a gift from long ago when I...

I recently woke up a Coherent Sabre white light from its extended hibernation. Was able to get it to lase initially, holding steady at about 6.5 watts. Following the pyrotechnics show from the FETs, that power supply was shelved. Only have one functioning head, if I get another potentially running, I’ll attempt to repair the blown power supply.
