If you hook up a pot that allows you to offset the colormod signal you'll have something akin to the beam torquer that is right in the center of the console. To recreate the four scanner Laserium look you'd need four comparitor circuits with different fixed offsets for each scanner "color".

Do you mean CGH for optical elements? Or for pictorial applications, like those presented on LCoS displays? Here's an article about an early (if not first) step in their development from April, 1967:

The circuit, as proposed by Brian, has produced results. The parameter varied in the photos is the gain of the sinusoid input to the colormod. The R Y and G colormod channels are driving the R G and B inputs to the laser. Next up will be the summing amps needed for the Y color channel. Also needed...

You're in good company here. Most all of us have a special place in our hearts for ion systems. Some of us still work with them. I can't help identify the projector or the software, unfortunately. But if anyone on Earth can, said person is most likely on this forum. It's great to hear that an...

Note that there has never been a "state variance" for shows or projectors. That has always been a federal requirement through the CDRH. Florida used to have a state laser registry, but it was nothing more than a list of equipment. It hasn't been enforced in decades. (Also, it was for the...

Good news about Hawaii and laser shows. They have now laser state laws on out door laser shows, no show notice, no state show or projector variance. No fees to pay. The only thing we had to do was give notice to the FAA

Huge update! New visual features; infinite spider vector (for drawing) and (vector) direction. Because of some examples from lasermaster1977, the whole mess of constructors for all of the line functions was re-written and it actually works now. There was an issue of a real number (double)...

Yes. I thought concept of having a driving project that you're trying to achieve was simple and cool. To commit to something across department lines and figure out solutions. Instead of just working on the fun parts.

I started out doing live performances in planetariums using their effects to augment and diversify this "theater in the round" art form. The live performance experience usually brought me to the point of wanting to...

Are you referring to UNC in Chapel Hill? They were big in VR research. When I was a student they coupled a virtual reality setup to an atomic force microscope so that you could explore the surface of a substrate at the atomic level. It was pretty cool to walk around atoms.

Quad 6502s is impressive for the time. I did read something about a VR box somebody built at Chapel Hill that had a 6502 for each pixel in the display. They were very serious about latency. Ivan & Charlie took (perhaps unknowingly) what Thomas Wilfred pioneered to reach a new plateau with...
