Has anybody here dealt with or bought from this company https://www.mokalighting.com/. I'm buying a dry ice log fog machine MK-F13 from them.

That board was just included for the parts. It had four fairly fast 12 bit adc & dac chips. It plugged into a IBM PC, and I used it to characterize the analog color computer of a Hell 340 rotary drum scanner recorder. I built it about 7 years after my time with Laser Images.

Here's a photo of the drum kit graphic recovered by lasermaster1977, shown in laser. Also shown are front and back photos of an interesting looking unidentified wire wrap board that came with the shipment that was picked up in Buffalo a few years ago.

These boxes were the only enclosures I could find that were big enough. I much would have preferred an aluminum extruded enclosure or an old show laser enclosure over a steel sheet metal one, but I made it work. I actually had to shave an inch of extra material off the optical table to make it fit!...

Thanks! I'm currently using LaserShowGen and a Helios Laser DAC. It would be cool to try an FB4 and QuickShow/Beyond, but that's a bit out of my price range currently haha.

Thanks! Believe it or not, it only costed me $250 in parts! I had access to a mill so the machining only cost me my time and $20 for aluminum stock.

My ~2W chinese laser fell and here is the damage - Green seems low output - Red seems blurry.. a single spot has become a huge smudge - Blue is off Is there a way to replace the diodes? The scanner still works, and animations still play.

Yes sir, I just re-read my John Bell Engineering, Inc 2716 EPROM Programmer manual (to fact check myself and my old recollections) which states that any memory location within the 2K data range to be written that is not to be overwritten should be filled with FF. So it was possible to only write...

It's important to remember it was a long time ago. The DOG programing was done real close to the bare metal. The first computer at Laser Images was a six board wire wrapped masters thesis project. Having some junk in the unaddressed space wasn't because they put it there - they just didn't take it...

Great investigative sleuthing, Roj! It cools to see the image pieces fall into their choreographed place. Greg, when I was referring to CVs, I was extrapolating the use of 8-bit values being used as inputs to the DOGN 8-bit DACs for "image offset control voltages". To me a CV is a very broad...

lasermaster1977, or anyone else interested, I suggest anything you want to do involving the bela just ask me first, that will probably save you time. I watched those videos and asked questions on the forum so you won't have to. As time permits, I'll look into what is needed to get those sensors you...

Neat! I keep forgetting to search for numbers on youtube before diving into restoration. I have that XYZ number from the Rush show from a 1/4" reel. The underlying choreography in that video looks similar or the same as what I have, but I think what is going on is that an image generator called the...

Thanks Roj. Here is the Rainbow Cadenza image plot with the missing end segment of 'NZA' restored to its rightful place. For some odd reason this end segment was at the beginning of one 2K ROM that immediately preceded a string of ASCII symbol characters shown previously and here again:

Lighthouse Photonics Sprout, by the designers of Verdi, might be cheaper option. Just a plug for Lighthouse. They really took care of my former employer. That and their patent is an interesting read. What Eric says in the video about a homogenous pump is worth listening to. Steve

My current plan is to use a set of 808nm MM diodes, knife edged along fast axis to get beam with roughly similar M^2 in both axis (I convinietly aquired FAC diodes with M^2 of 1.3 x 15 with divergence in similar ratios) and possibly PBS combined if I need more power. I know that pumping from both...

The longitudinal modes do frequency mixing / beating against each other. The mixing products cause problems in the doubler, especially if there is excess nonlinearity. I'm going from memory as these were all 1990s problems for me. I had a 150 watt lamp pumped laser that I wanted to convert to...
