Went with the DT50 Wides in the end as it'll be a purely big indoor/outdoor beam projectors... Will be interesting to see how they do when they arrive.

I've got 2 of the 4W modules, but may be a bit different to the latest ones as I got them over a year ago. Mine ended up only being 900mW 520 as I think they were using the 700mW 520 overdriven. I fed this back to John at the time. It's not the method of beam combination as there's only one of...

Thanks. Is there a reason silicone tubes, heatshrinks or brass/aluminum-copper tubes shouldn't be used or aren't preferred? While the hole diameter to tube diameter ratio with these is larger (thicker walls), I'm having hard time finding 1-2mm diameter straws. I understand for larger builds...

Yes, there is a tiny motor on the left hand side of the aperture. The right hand side is a laser diode. The markings on the motor, "FAULHABER Mini motor 0816 N 008S. The motor is unfortunately seized. After removing the scanning mirror, I was able to manually rotate the motor shaft....

Yes I have access to a 1200 dpi printer. When I turn on the laser and it asks for a code, I do not hear any motor sounds. There is just a narrow slot on the face of the aperture where the fiber optic cable is inserted. One of my posts has a close-up picture. Yes, I do realize that this is a...

Talking to him on phone now... Arranging for a bar code... Do you have access to a 1200 dpi printer? Does the bar code motor spin? You realize that this is a 1.8 watt max laser for a half second and then the mode goes to hell in a handbasket? Typically 800 mW for 0.1 second then a 5:1...

Mimi from goldenstar about the w3000 and there 4W unit "For its disvergence, yeah, it is a little big, because it is just with common collimator to adjust. This 3W, just for club and low cost laser, if you want better quality, you can consider 4W with 1W red , green 1W and 2W blue, this one has...

They just looked like hex screws. I bought the 3/4 or one inch long version. I think I had some thought of stacking wheels with spacers, but I ended up cutting them down to 3/8 inch thead like we used for Laserium. The projector design I settled on has a lot of flexibility for driving multiple...

To be frank the divergence on the mirage is less than that, that's a spec sheet error. You should have no issues with setting anything on fire IF the beam is scanning. If you do a sustained single point that's not moving even 400mW can be a fire hazard

I don't hate you at all. I love the enthusiasm. Channel it into something a little more approachable. Show me one successful project and I'll hang on your every word. Start off building a successful vacuum system with a turbo pump. That is the basis for this. Next build a mass spectrometer....

Okay yeah my specs were pretty vague :) ha ha. and I do like me SOME of JT. I went ahead and just got a king sized flat sheet for an 8' square backdrop. It'll hang off a well supported 8 foot 2x2. Looks like I shoulda went for black instead of offwhite - dang. My x-laser mobile beat...

Not hatred ... indifference. It's not that you "want to build a laser". It's that you want to reinvent the wheel, and for a stated reason that doesn't sit well with those who are heavily invested in the safe and legal use of laser light. This is a forum related to the laser application of...

You can just pick up an inexpensive gray or black flame retardant drape from Georgia Expo and use it to cover up the Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars posters (one assumes since you were intentionally vague ;) ) on the wall whenever you want to laze. You could also use grey or black felt held with...

Well I'm not really talking about the projectors, I'm talking about the modules used so the CDRH bit is a bit irrelevant. If Steve is reviewing a 'Goldenstar 10W RGB' it would be useful to know which one it is he's reviewing. It sounded like he got it through you, so I was hoping you'd know what...
