Hey guys, I have a couple of 591nm laser modules that I would like to put into my lumia projector. I like to fade in/out my lumia effects and also control the brightness. These summation lasers don't work well, or at all, at low power levels so fading/attenuating via modulation is out. Since...

Hi, I'm basically trying to collimate and shape a 808nm beam to pump Nd:YAG, but all quotes for optics I got were outrageous.

Hi All. I am trying to rebuild some old 100mW green lasers. I am hoping that someone here has seen this type of PCB before. I controls the X and Y scanner motors. I am trying to find out what kind of signal there is on the black yellow and white wires. Those are the control signal in. The...

tl;dr: making a first-time scanner purchase for hobbyist & professional use in UK clubs and festivals. Which suppliers should I be looking at, and what non-obvious things do I need to know? Hi all. I'm a UK-based club lampy, been a laser fan since around 2010 when I was an active member of LPF...

Its difficult to accept when a "greybeard" says no, because, at least in my experience, their information is out of date. I'm not saying that's the case here, but saying no to a question, and then saying "because I've worked with lasers since the 1980's" when they ask why it wont work, does sweet...

Is this in addition to your YAG project to focus 808 nm into the crystal? Beam expanders are easy, you don't necessarily need an AR coated lens for 808 nm as an output expander, it won't be as efficient, but not that much loss, not needed for a pointer output unless your diode is sensitive to...

I'm primarily looking for cylindrical lenses to build a telescope to expand the beams from individual laser diodes. For that, I need short concave lens and longer convex lens, for eg. -4mm and +40mm. Additionally, I need (preferably M9) collimators for the diodes, but I found a few options here.

We, the members at the time, all saw it and you bragged about it in the discourse group. Not only are you incorrigible, you are a liar. How about the threats to show up at another forum members home with a shot gun? That didn't happen either?

This seller on ebay might have them, but not listed. He had some fiber to convex 808 nm lenses with AR coating in the past and not expensive, as they go. You could remove the fiber, or leave it on to interface to a FAP. What kind of laser is your 808 nm coming out of? Simple diode, or? What are you...

Or he could have simply said (as I did) that its more complicated than creating an electrical discharge in argon to make an argon ion laser. There is a middle ground between saying "no it wont work" and giving a full lesson on the mechanics of gas lasers, just saying. Its difficult to accept...

After I got the main intended functionality working with the included software, I did not proceed with changing anything further. To be honest, if you want to use it as a stationary laser, I think you will be better served by just buying a cheap show laser instead.
