Hoping someone here might have experience with spectrometers. I purchased a new spectrometer from ASEQ Instruments in Canada, trying to understand how to get accurate readings, unit is rated to a resolution of .35 nm. I've attached a screen shots of a spectrum from a mercury bulb, the lines...

Looking at the circuits in the laser lightshow handbook. Has any tried using AD-734 multipliers in-place of AD-534's as summing amps and in the rotation circuit? The datasheet says they are pin compatable.

This is a software development question I'm hoping others can chime in on. One manufacturer told me that all lasers work on different controllers/interfaces. From a software development standpoint. If someone was looking to make a plugin/ or open source application for video to laser control. ...

Probably looking for a response from VDX more than anyone due to his extensive high power DYI projects but I will gladly take advice from anyone. I have been looking to procure or build a 1kw fiber CNC cutter for a while now. I love my 80W co2 cutter but the obvious limitation is the ability to...

Got a Laserglow chassis with two combined lasers, blue and yellow. Hoping someone can tell me if they have seen this before, I am most interested in the 589 laser, but the unit came without the power supply/drivers. I opened the 589 laser in a fairly low dust environment to see what the pump diode...

Hello all My first day with laser. I’m using light burn with a galvo laser. When I create a image and view the image and preview it looks correct but when I frame and mark with the laser it’s very squished. Please help?

Hello What wavelength is the pump diode for a 561nm yellow/green laser? Orange 591 I think is still an 808nm as is for a green DPSS but have no idea what it is for a 561nm laser? Thank You Draco

I'd like to present the latest news in IDN. IDN (ILDA Digital Network), as many of you know, is ILDA's open standard for streaming laser data over networks. IMO this kind of protocol is sorely needed in the industry, to standardize the various different protocols, many of them proprietary,...

I'm searching for a rule of thumb, or calculator to determine the apparent beam brightness to beam diameter at different powers. i.e., 1 mm beam diameter at 1 watt compared to 5 mm beam diameter at one watt, how much brighter does the 1 mm beam appear to the eye? Is it a straight linear ratio...

Anyone know where to buy a reasonably priced laser which uses combined green wavelength diodes that is more rectangle shaped than square? I have found a 15 W RGB White laser from China with a rectangle shaped chassis for under 900 dollars, but only one and not just for a green wavelength output at...

Hi everyone. Long time no see. It's been ages since I've posted here. Was just wondering is GoldenStar Lasers are still operating? I sent a few emails to Mini and Wini but nothing back. I'm assuming they are finished. Can anyone confirm this and if so what are our options these days? ...

NUBM0G Decanned hitting over 8 watts. This little monster can output a gorgeous 473nm at around 6.2-6.5A and even richer cyan when pushed a bit harder. Measurements taken with DTR 25mm Copper module, G2 lens, Sanwu LPM-20T, 21°C TEC cryo-block Link to test results:...

If buying green laser diodes from Techhood in China, you might not get what you are paying for. I purchased a dozen "low hour tin pin NDG7475" diodes at half price which were really NDG700 diodes or something less, the divergence was also much greater than the NDG7475 would have produced. It took...

Hi, I'm building ECDL and looking for grating to lock the resonator. Preferably blazed around 520nm, but I'm open to any offers. The grating can be a bit denser or a bit more sparse but somewhere in 1050-1450.

This diode hit 10.6W when run at 6.2A, cooled to -0.7°C using a TEC module! 🙀 Yup, you read that right. Measured on a Sanwu LPM-20T, using G2 lens at 20cm distance, pressed in a 25mm DTR copper module. Link to test datasheet:...

So..... Intense Pulsed Light cosmetic laser cosmetic systems use diode bar stack arrays of (almost always) 808 nm "off the shelf" wavelengths (presumably a side-channel that the industry uses to offload their specialized Mil Spec, high energy physics lab gear, and industrial thin disk laser pump...

Anyone know a source for a high voltage capacitor suitable for a "SSY-1" ND:YAG laser for sale anywhere? I want to charge the cap to 500 VDC but it needs to be able to handle rapid 5 to 10 Hz charge and discharge firing. No, not one YAG, I have a dozen of them I want to fire one at a time...

On the laser media amp, the LM343 op amp was a high voltage (up to + and - 35v) powered IC. It doesn't look like they are available anymore. I've looked to see if there are any newer equivalents but haven't found any yet. The other op amps TL074 or TL084 run off the 7815 and 7915 regulators. ...

Oh, so that's what they look like when intact. I was used to getting them parted out. I've seen and salvaged Argon sleds, but never had my hands on the full HENE printer version. BtW it's easy to mod a Xerox AO driver for analog in most cases. The AOs are fun teaching tools. . Steve
