That's the bit I'm struggling with and wonder if it's why the original company folded. Why do you need a mat and a projector when you can simply project the whole game into a pair of VR glasses such as Pimax or Occulus? Maybe this is an attempt to produce a cheaper version of VR by using AR and...

Unfortunately with "3D" there is really very little movement forward. It seems the industry is stuck at stereoscopic displays. That's the only game in town right now and has been for a long time. The only development is just perfecting was has already been the industry standard for decades. ...

Not to dispute anyone here but I find the DMX features of Beyond and Quickshow very capable. I use Beyond exclusively for controlling my Halloween display ever year. DMX sequences can be programed with as many steps as you want, block changes between the steps or gradual. These sequences can be...

Someone posted a while back about a small inflatable dome that you could use in your living room (seriously, like 2.5 meters - maybe smaller?), and if I remember correctly the use case involved a head-mounted pair of MEMS-projectors fed by a laser source. Coupled with the head-tracking 3D glasses...

I just bought Entec's DMXIS box for my place of Worship, as we have led strips all over the place for special holiday services, and the odd superbowl party. I've had VERY bad experiences with their under 100$ products, but I can tell you that DMXIS is very good for an intro system and quite...

What you can do with the laser via DMX will depend on the capabilities of the built-in DMX control. While Beyond (and QuickShow?) can do DMX output, that's not really their main focus, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you're already using Beyond/QS for laser control. For dedicated DMX...

I own a very old 10w Spektronica copper bromide laser that includes a mirror scanning system controlled by 3-pin DMX. I am looking for a cost effective USB to DMX interface and software control to create simple sweeping sheets, cones etc. Is Pangolin the best way to go? Tips? Suggestions? ...

Laser-based picoprojectors could keep the image focused on randomly placed screens in the environment, giving this technique a shot. Tiny LCoS displays, going out of favor because of OLED, make it easier to get nice images in them. I work with those from Compound Photonics, having the smallest...

One of the very first things people did with lasers after they were invented was to use their beam as a reference for construction. Put a laser on a transit mount and you have a great way to keep things level or in a line. A late '60s era version of such a thing is this Spectra-Physics model 120T...
