Hi, Try these settings for the servo's. And yes, all service reports are stored in the Coherent database. Is the configuration for the power supply and head set to 10W - 2 diodes system? You can change the current delta to see what value gives the most power (rollover power, in current...

OD3 or OD4 are typically used for "Aiming" glasses. Off the shelf sun glasses are maybe OD1.5, and their coatings and materials are not rated nor designed for lasers. They often have coverage gaps etc. Welding goggles are not for laser safety either. At 1.5 meters off a non specular or ...

... "dark" glasses, capable of blocking all sorts of laser, wouldn't let any visible light through -- so you wouldn't see anything through them either >:)

These old air cooled ions are fun. I have an ILT 5500A that I have used occasionally as a space heater in the garage. It does have the multiline mirror set. I used to have an old spectra physics that had the line selecting prism on the rear mirror which was pretty cool. Argons have some of the...

Macona, thank you for the suggestions. I should have gone for the battery powered scope instead of the isolation transformer. The first contact website doesn't have the small kits, but looks like Edmunds does. Still ~$100 after shipping, but is far better than trying to source the solvents. ...

I now see multiple posts dating back over a decade with reports of no response from Innolasers or the ILD SOS author for registration keys. It's been a week since my purchase. Nada. Multiple emails. Bummer, too. I really did want to work with the program to reduce the number of points on these...

Modest exposure to "warm" sunlight, not laser light, is essential for basic health. Must be Broadband light. Not be laser narrowband light, not single color LED light, not monochromatic light, is essential. The process is not fast, biological molecules and processes take long times. You cannot...

More general question. How does the current from the main menu of the power supply correspond to the current of each diode? Should it be the same currents +- delta we set in the diode delta current menu? Thanks IK

    1. I presume they store somewhere the service report for our system. 2. The coherent service engineer pointed out that diodes getting older tend to lower operating temperature. Our system is actually old. Diode hours ~ 18K

Hi Thank you! One more question. I understood that you did use the GUI software from Coherent. Probably you can clarify following question. I trace laser head and diode parameters with the program. The current I set in the main menu of the power supply is 26.7 A but the current "C" which...

Strange, why would they suggest such different temperatures for the FAP modules? Re. the non-linearity in output power vs pumping current, I think it is more or less normal, but don't know to what extent. Anyhow, this does not help you with your main issues which seem to be related to the...

All removable connections should be cleaned. Post pics of the board. There may be a battery backed up NVRAM that is getting old. The big battery is for handling the cool down in the event of a power failure. Im pretty sure it has nothing to do with internal settings.

Get yourself a battery powered scope for working on these. I have an Owon HDS242S handheld scope/dmm and it's great. Rated to 40MHz but will go faster. Decent battery life too. For cleaning optics I have been using the firstcontact polymer cleaning kit. It's not cheap (~$100) but it will last...

Sounds like there are issues with the control electronics in the power supply. Id get some deoxit and spray all of the connectors. But the weird vanadate reading is odd. It might be the memory was corrupted.
