i have done anything yet. is an open ground repairable? I am already glad that the galvanos are not choked. this is about: RD8309 40K 0056 https://photos.app.goo.gl/Speje9Pd7k6F5qya8 https://photos.app.goo.gl/iXTmt1zXhQiWmHW6A https://photos.app.goo.gl/q6Mqz5RoDsVTmUTb7

The drivers have and input, output, and a power connection. The galvos connect to the output AND ARE MATCHED TO THE SCANAMP - that's why I specifically wrote: (Do not swap the outputs to the scanners.). The input connects to the ILDA connector - perhaps via a dmx board or something. The power...

Does anyone have any insights for why this might be happening? Such as DoS Attack prevention or something? Thanks in advance.

you mean switch the connector wich are on the galvo''s? or do you mean switch the connectors on the driver board?

In your first videos it looked like you had a sine wave superimposed on the y axis. An open ground could do that. If you were projecting a square the y axis looked like the gain was low also. What's going on depends on the details. I'd swap the x/y inputs at the scan amps to see if the problem...

Hello everyone, I am looking for 1 PT-A40 Galvo. In my case, the mirror of 1 is broken off, as is the steel pin on the axle. Does anyone here have a separate PT-A40 for sale?

good evening :-) my 10W RGB laser gives a distorted image, in the following video you can see how it draws the ilda test pattern, I do this with beyond. https://photos.app.goo.gl/bmur7tJ9zsqDFQAK9

@Photonlexicon used a nice solution that he shared with me. I thought I had posted this before (maybe I did but I couldn't find it so here it is again. I used this "inverse" of the slotted can solution with both G115 open-loop and G120PD closed-loop scanners. No question it worked best with the...

The Mark IV & Mark VI projectors used a big old non-feedback galvo that looked like a G330 for chopper. The Mark IV used the same galvo for scanners. The chopper was a slotted can. It was relatively slow with soft edges. If I was designing something today I'd make it capable of higher speeds and...

Hello forum! I recently learned how to fix Verdi lasers, and once I had one working, I was captivated by the beauty of the SLM green light. I would like to fix some more Verdi lasers, to get to know them a little better. Really, just for the fun of it. If anyone has Verdi, Chameleon, or...

The missing variable potentiometer could be most any value where its full resistance plus the 3.3K Rin to the 2nd op amp and it's .22uF feedback resistor makes up an integrator that generates a triangle-like waveform. The triangle wave is feedback to the positive input of the first op amp thereby...

I don't. That is part of what I'm posing as a question to the community. I have been using the ramp generator which I sent you, also called the colormod2 circuit, for both chopper and colormod effects. When needed, I also use the PDM signal from the spiral board for retrace blanking. For more...

Greg, thanks for posting the schematic. I haven't even gotten around to thinking about what to do with chopping yet. Do you know if there is any info on what feeds the various inputs to this circuit?

Laserist. I totally agree and that is the goal. You are right, ever since I started this thing, it continues to evolve and get more complex - which I love. The summing amp I have in mind has 12 inputs : 4 quadratures, KQO, Sq, circle, triangle, star, sqr wave generator and 2 extra. 8 summing...

Here is the chopper driver card schematic from a package of documentation for the Mk4 received from John Tilp. My ability to read schematics is less advanced than some here, so I'm not sure exactly what the circuit described does. My understanding is that the chopper was a scanner, not a spinning...

One thing about analog consoles is you tend to modify them over time. For example the output of the CYGN-B summed with the CYGN-A originally. Then it was added to Fixed Cycloid 7 & 9, Spiral & Inverse Spirals, and maybe the clipper. That was just up to when I left in 1984. Why not design giving...

Well at least you can use it somewhat. Do you or a friend have an oscilloscope? You can definitely troubleshoot some of it using that.
