very slowly pull a vacuum on the boards, but make sure no oil from the rotary pump gets on the boards, so install a trap. Atmosphere is 760 Torr. Drop to say 700 Torr the first day. Drop to 600 Torr and hold one or two days. Drop to 500 Torr and hold one or two days.

... I've ordered an 30Watt-MOPA-M7 fiberlaser with variable pulse-length in exchange for my actual 30Watt with "fixed" pulselength -- while the actual can only generate pulses with 200ns (wwats too long for my actual project), the MOPA-M7 can vary between 2ns-350ns. Here the box, that came...

With that IP address and subnet mask, you can set your computer to any IP address between (including) 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.254, except 192.168.1.234. Your computer will need the same subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. I seem to recall seeing some weirdness with modulaser and network settings, but...

Hmmm... I've always heard it referred to a "Uranium glass", since it's a uranium oxide that gives it the yellow-greeninsh (Vaseline) color. Wikipedia has a nice short article on it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uranium_glass Ron

I have a few big pieces including a large cake stand and a Lalique (which is my avatar on LPF) but most of it is early 20th century jewelry I bought for my wife. So it was fun for both of us to see your stuff in the video. Keep collecting :)

Damage to the LEDs themselves shouldn't cause LEDs to stay ON. That sounds more like a problem with the driving circuitry. I'm not super clear on how the whole tiles are put together from your description, but I would certainly look at the driver circuitry first, assuming it's separate from the...

Usually if the rod is uncoated, it is a weakly convex or concave HR, and a long radius OC. Ruby systems tend to be designed for a highly optimized cavity to deal with immense thermal lensing. Sometimes their designers like negative numbers, thus will use a slightly convex HR. That is also...

Yes, I still enjoy good beam work... more commonly used as stage lighting, to accent and augment a main act. Laser art is as versatile as music. Different strokes for different strokes (and intent). Beam work? Good fog. Projected imagery? Bad fog. Exactly, no brainer click on every beat. Look at...

Steve, what is the typical mirror configuration for a ruby laser with external mirrors? Do they use a planar OC and a concave HR? Dual-concave? Or are both the HR and OC just flat, planar mirrors like you'd have when the mirrors are bonded to the rod ends? Adam
