In that case there is a document around somewhere about adapting the chinese amps to the early 506's. That might help with the pinout. I cannot find the copy I had. I am sure someone around here has it. I will post it if I can find it.

No, the set you have posted is not the same. This is the early version 506 (before the dsp driver board) Same as in this thread: https://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/showthread.php/27911-Various-scanner-SET-ScannerMax-C506-PT-A27-30-kpps-Laserworld-20-kpps?highlight=scannermax+506 And this...

I am going to go out on a limb and say that the amp at least is not a ScannerMax Compact 506 amp. I believe it to be from China. I would probably go out on a even skinnier branch and say the galvo is not a Compact 506 either. See here for what they look like: ...

Supercontinuum using Multimode Fiber. My guess on Soliton fission in the video is wrong by the way! The brilliant combs in the video are caused by Cascaded Stimulated Raman Scattering (CSRS) alone. You don't see the comb in singlemode Fiber, because Self Phase Modulation smooths them...

I think the intense UV may well destroy the fiber and conventional wisdom suggests as Femtoman notes, a broad input line-width seems to be required. That being said I have read many papers where continuum generation has been achieved with relatively narrow input line-widths, for example the 1064nm...

Glad it helped! It helped remind me that I bought my DT40Pro galvos and drivers back in 2017-18 (never been used as yet) and I need to finish the RGB projector I bought them for.:rolleyes:

Thank you lasermaster1977!! I remember tuning this controller up to 36k many years ago. Now, after 3 years without using them due to the pandemic, they became very unstable. I'm thinking maybe the problem may be the SD/DMX/Ilda board that is pre-driver. At the time I needed to replace one with a...

Agreed! Well done Greg! For variable software damping, I was thinking of simply averaging a 'n' number of streaming joystick offsets. But, that approach is probably too simplistic to be practical. Anything more complicated makes my head hurt. Thanks for sharing the demo. Great work!

Greg, Your wiring is sheer artistry (in a Jackson Pollack sort of way!). Forget about the lasers. I'd put your wire harnesses (that's a very generous use of the word "harness"...) into an art gallery themselves! Ron PS. Any high resolution shots you can send of your Osmium would be great....

Its coming together nicely. Your efforts are to be heartily congratulated! Seems like you could use a quad or octal, dual-channel analog multiplexer CMOS switch that uses 2 or 4 bits to select the the desired 1 of 4 or 1 or 8 pair of low-pass filter caps across the buffered joystick XY outputs....

This is the update where we see four channels with joysticking. Tweaking needs be obviously, but it is working. The jitteriness of the images is entirely due to the joystick, and will go away with code for damping. video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVrhhtzZA4E Suggestions open for...
