I want to add half a dozen or so bounce mirrors to my kit, and looking at the price of various offerings I thought maybe there is a cheaper way to go?
I have used 5.25" hard drive platters before with good results, what do you guys use for the mirrors and mounts? Any DIY tips?
My first gig is in Sept (electronic music gig in a factory/warehouse) and I really want to do some fancy bounce effects for that show.

I used swivel/tilt VESA mounts (~£10 each) and then buy Pilkington 4"x4"x6mm first surface mirrors from here for about £8 a pop.

I've got some film and hard plastic line and burst gratings I fix on them too

If you are willing to cut the mirrors... Projection Screen TV's can be had for a song or less and have a large FSM. The trick is getting them home... As for the mounting brackets, you would have to get creative.

you can also check at a plastics store or shop, that sells sheets and pieces. you want to look for acrylic mirrors one side would work but not that well but the other side is first bounce. thats the side you want. thats what i use and it is pretty cheap to get. you just have to make some kind of mounts for them.
Try going to TV repair shops. Ask them for old mirrors from projection TVs. They usually have precise front surface mirrors that are fairly thick,and can be cut down to any size you like. Free and inexpensive. =)
Last weekend I hit up the local TV repair shop again and the guy was more than happy to let me get the mirrors, as long as I disassembled the rest and tossed the remains in the dumpster. I got a few other good goodies from gutting them as well.
It was a fun and constructive, destructive morning =).
