Hi I have a Laserworld PL 800 RGB projector.
Trying to get it tuned properly.
There are two trim pots labelled Linearity Adjustment
Is there a test pattern for setting this up?
Is there away to rotate the output image form within the projector it is tilled to the left.

Welcome to the forum!!
First, you are going to need a large body of water...
Firstly, be careful what pots you touch, as not all can be retuned easily!

As for patience totally agree it is a very time consuming process.
I'm at the point where its almost there just needs a bit of tweaking & that took 2 days.
As for the Linearity Adjustment pots they don't seem to change anything with the usual test patterns.

Don't mess around with the linearity pots. You can screw up the image. Tuning should only be done using three pots: High Frequency Damping, Low Frequency Damping, and Servo Gain. There is one other pot that is user-adjustable - it's called Size, or sometimes Input Scale. This increases or decreases the size of the scan field.
But the other pots are far more difficult to adjust. You really need an oscilloscope to do it correctly, and I haven't found a good tutorial on-line to explain it properly. (I've tried adjusting these myself, and it's incredibly difficult to get them right.) Bottom line: you can do a lot more harm than good by messing around with things like position scale and linearity, so stay away from those pots.

For position and linearity, you really need the calibration constants from the factory. Chinese producers of galvos are very reluctant to publish the numbers for position sensing's " Input volts per degree".. For linearity, you need a really, really, good single axis test jig and oscilloscope or data acquisition system. I have seen the adjustment procedure only for Cambridge products, and I've been at this a long, long time. Linearity control is highly dependent on the position sensor design, and that varies widely. As Buffo says, Linearity is the last thing I'd ever touch.
