Back to the basics... Which side of the bounce mirror?

Ok, Little bit of a mind blank here, Which side of the mirror do I use? 1 or 2?
If it looks like this
|=reflective material ; #=glass ; > or < being laser beam to be reflected.

#1 assuming first-surface mirrors

use the side that doesn't have the antireflective coating.
