You can get a nice wheel with DMX control by simply purchasing an LK-PD3 which is covered in several threads in this forum. Alternatively, you can take something like this cheap mirror scanner and then gut the thing for parts. You just need to add your own wheel with whatever effects you want or incorporate a wheel like Brad posted. I've taken both approaches and other than the ability to rotate super slow (like 1RPH), I've been pleased with the results.

yeah ive just purchased 30 x older martin Robo scan unit those that have optic issues are destined to be come dmx able bounce mirrors i like the source posted as the diffraction wheels have 20 options
