The killer for alignment with these diodes is the rotation. If the ---s are not absolutely dead on the same (for example horizontal), then after the beam expansion optics the best you will get is a reduction of the width of the stacked beams, but the height will be determined by the distance from the lowest to the highest point of the stack.
Thanks CDBeam and Planters, I havent had much time to xperiment with all the new tech lately.. getting geared up tho .. hopefully some alone time (with lasers) will appear before too long .. it's been hectic around here having to install chicken coops and build fences for the wify who has had some down-time as of late -- whew -- missing the laser time -- //

I was waiting to include this with a video outlining my mitsu beam path , and I will. But in the meantime, I have also discovered that the cylinder optics from the GB and Edmund and I suspect elsewhere do not have their optical axises precisely aligned with their edges. And so, when setting up the beam expander there is an advantage in being able to slightly rotate one or the other of this pair in the plane normal to the optical axis.
Does anyone know if anyone here or on lpf did a power test on the p73 yet
Curious to know at what the max current is before they start dimming ,and when they die ?

Just put them to 2A already. These can take anything!:P
Just cause they can take it does not mean it can take it for long or that you will reap any benefit in the short term. You really defeat the purpose when you run them that high as they shift wavelength pretty heavy. All the ones I sell with driver are set to 850mA and under.:)
