That was a very interesting afternoon seeing all the various kit everyone had, though I was surprised there were so many others with Pangolin cards, which is why I didn't think it was worth unpacking my rather large PC.

Thanks to Paul for organising it all and the Tshirt, and Mark for hosting it, nice to see you again.

Looks like we left a bit too early, I'd have like to have seen the outside projection onto the building, but I think I would have been at home asleep by that time...it had been a tiring weekend for us.

Thanks to Paul and Robin for the use of the power meters too, that was one thing I really wanted to find out, even if the 135mW was a lot less than I was hoping to see, but no surprise really.

Marks 360 NeoNeon was nice...until he mentioned the price tag :eek:

Also nice to see someone else being mad enough to hump around all the weight of an ion gas laser too, well done Rob!

Shame about Jems blue in his RGB, I thought solid states were more reliable than the ions, hope it doesn't dent your pocket too much.

We should definitely do it again sometime.

Aiden: There is an FTP-server for the PL members that you can use for uploading pictures/videos.

I see there has been some people that has created UKLN 2007 and SELEM 2007 folder, but has no files in it yet.

I must say I LOVE the pictures of UKLN meeting ;) Pretty nice dudes!!

Crunch : Aye I saw that, didn’t work when I tried to login though.

+ a gallery is allot nicer to use than clicking on single files etc in FTP.

I’m aiming for more for public access, usability and ease of access to reviews and how too`s and other laser related data etc!

It’s all a bit closed at the moment in small communities.

The idea for the FTP-server is for primary for sharing lasershows, frames etc ;)
About pictures/videos, just for an temp upload place ;)

I had a similar "religious experience" at DZ's house (or more specifically, in his garrage) while watching the "Again" beamshow that comes with Pangolin on his solid state RGB projector. Steping into a colorfull tunnel of beams like that is a wonderful experience. You want to reach out and touch them, and your mind is racing trying to record everything. Then, when it's over, all you can think about is, "I have *got* to get me one of these!". (Actually, in my case we started the show over again so I could watch it a second time!)

And I agree with your expression, Paul - 100%. Yeah, that really does qualify as a "religious experience" in my book! Very, very cool stuff.

So congratulations to everyone involved. Looks like you guys have the beginings of a regular gig there. And hat's off to Rob (Stanwax) for providing the SP-168 whitelight that was the source of so many cool images. (And perhaps more than a few "religious experiences"!):)

The really annoying thing is that my blue laser has now started working again, although the power is getting less and less each time it's powered up. I'm now down to 113mw from the 200mw that it should be. Never mind though, the new one should be on its way soon.

The big question now is... Should I jump in and buy the Pangolin QM2000.net system and LD2000 software, or should I take my wife and kids on holiday instead? :D

I think you should take your family for a holiday ...... to Florida ... so you can pick up the hardware personaly, just think what you will save on shipping and import duty, and if you ask bill nicely, he might let you sleep on the floor of the pangolin office for a couple of weeks so you can save on hotels also .... and only take the family to the theme parks at night ... cos its cheaper and thats when they start the laser shows :D

Same here im up for anytime as long as its not the weekend of 24th Feb or the following weekend as I am on my hols. But then a September meet would not interfere with that ;)

Im with you on that Adam. Funnily enough i was watching some vids of your first meet last night and all you can hear is (i think) your voice, in sheer enthusiasm and amazement at the sights you are seeing. It makes me chuckle but I know exactly what you mean and what you are experiencing. It really is like nothing else.

Hehe... Yeah, that's my voice in the FLEM videos all right. But you should have heard me last night. I *finally* got my RGB projector all assembled around 9 PM. (This is after installing the replacement blue laser from Lasever and also installing the second Maxyz module... So I now have 400 mw of red and a full 100 mw of blue to go with my 85 mw of green.) Bear in mind that I've been working on it for about 3 days straight now. (all new optical table, new mounts, new dichros, and a new case.)

I fired that sucker up and fogged up the living room, then played a laser show that I've been working on for the last 2 weeks. (It's a beamshow that I made for SELEM.) Oh man... You think I made a bunch of noise at that first Florida meet? Nah... Can't compare to last night. All you heard was "Oh man! Look at that! Wow! Awesome! I love it! This is so cool!" etc, etc, etc, ad nauseum... My wife left the room, as did my mother. Sigh... Can't please everyone I guess. But now I *really* can't wait for SELEM!

I really shouldnt be thinking about spending any money right now, but a blue is too hard to resist. Will definitely have it installed for the next meet. Might still be paying for it, but they are too cool to resist.

Just had a go, but got permission deny messages, though I was using active and not passive ftp... Not sure why that is?

its an ftp upload thing mate

I tried ftp through the browser and via command prompt, but the server won't give me the correct permission to upload. In the meantime I have put them on my FTP server here. Will mail you the IP, if anyone else wants to download them let me know.
