Interesting wonder if there really sourced yet. Kinda odd there is a lead time of 20 days.

They're looking for people to do their beta testing (@$999/pop lol) . They should be paying us >:)
There is a source price drop. There available now at $840 if you know the right people.
Still very expensive
I think you definitely hit on something there, Steve. IF projectors could be had for that price, which I am willing to bet they are going to be in the $900~$1500 to cover the R&D for the first few years, we are not going to get these diodes for under $100 from tearing apart a projector. In fact, I have a feeling the 445s may go up in price as this becomes more prevalent since there won't be nearly as many needed to produce the green from the phosphor wheel. That said, because of the perceived brightness of the green wavelength, there will only be need for a few greens, not a whole sled of them.
Interesting bit though, since these are DLP and all RGB light sources will now diodes, will there even be need for a color wheel?
Anyone else going to be at ICES in January? Will be an interesting hunt for the technology using these.
Know the right people? I like the Casablanca feel of that. What is ICES?
