A Dremel tool would work fine as well.

I do have a Dremel tool... (I actually have two of them.) But I don't have the ring-attachment that clamps to the body to hold it vertical like a router. I'm guessing that by the time I purchase that ring-base adapter thingy I will have spent nearly as much as that cheap knock-off tool from Harbor Freight.
Plus, it's always nice to have another power tool cluttering up the workbench! :)

Here is a short video test that replicates the projection throw distance in my RGB LED Light Box. LED spacing is about .65", (Edit: projection distance to white piece of printer paper, about 1.875"). This is the same projection distance (or partition separation distance) as my original Light Box. There is a penny in the frame for size reference. The lighter color below the penny location is from dim room lighting. I have comments in the YouTube video description.
I'm pleased with the smooth blending of color on the projection surface when all LEDs are the same hue, not so thrilled with the resulting intensity but it is not a game changer. No doubt there are brighter strips but at what cost $$ and controller overhead.

Next, I have a bunch of tedious soldering of the strip sections for each partition section to do.
Correction: Projection distance from the LED strip to white piece of paper should be 1.625", not 1.875".
So I will redo the video and static RYGB photos at the correct distance and add as an edit to this post, soon. This is good news as it should reflect an increased reflected light intensities.
Here is a better video test using the proper LED-to-reflective surface distance of 1.625". In the photo below you will notice on the left side a 1" grid strip. Click on the image to enlarge and see the grid strip. The major visible horizontal grid lines are 1" apart. The black Sharpie mark on one division marks the horizontal centerline of the LED strip. From left-to-right, the white area (including the grid strip) is just under 10" wide. The penny is still used in the field of view for size reference purposes.
