There's no dress code at the club , though most people wear the jeans and t-shirt thing, mostly of the black variety !. A few bits of metal stuck randomly through body parts would also help you fit in ;) Gimp night is the first weekend of the month, so don't worry too much about your suit :). The 11th will have, Top floor mix bag rock and metal , middle floor punk and ground floor classic rock !

I will be there myself, so if you want to meet up earlier, I will be at Firebug from about 9.00.

Anyone else interested in a Saturday shindig, , just turn up at Firebug , ask for Mark at the bar, and they will point me out ( I hope !! ).

Just few days to go , looking forward to playing with kit for full day and seeing everyone else kit ! Just moved it all to a new housing and not done final fit or tested it , so this should be interesting !

I am visiting alton towers for a few days before meet so i wont see these threads until after i am back !

Just a suggestion, but would it be useful to post a few simple directions to the club along with where to park, plus the full address and the postcode for those with SatNav's. I know the address has been posted earlier in the thread, but 16 pages is a lot of searching for those who missed it.

The venue address is...

Venue - Leicester - Leicester Square , 170 Belgrave Gate , Leicester LE1 3XL

and the days-inn hotel is above the NCP car park and is around the corner ,,, and i guess as they are using it for their staying customers , it will need to be 24 hour with security.. ( i hope :D )

I have just dismantled the installation of my SP168 to load into the car ready for Sunday - am now ust preparing the special guest laser that Im bringing - its the most paranoid laser in the world - turn up on Sunday and you will find out what it is!

Right, just gave Mark a ring.

The building is actually the one right on the end next to the roundabout.

He says he’s not sure about the parking around the back of the club, it may or may not be double yellow lined but he says there will be little activity around the area as its Sunday.

Most people should park at the NCP, but you can get round the back of the club to drop kit off if needs be. (Orchard St > Royal E St)

Hope this helps, NCP postcode for sat navs is : LE1 3UA

O.K. Folks...

Just nicely got back from the first UK laser enthusiasts meeting. Had to leave a little early as my pal needed to be back home for just after 6:00pm :(

Anyway, What a fantastic day !!!

It was so good to meet all you guys and what a brilliant bunch you all are :)

Saw lots of stuff, played with Pangolin Pro and got loads of great advice.

Rob - I loved your big gas laser, those colours are really beautiful, shame about the water leak ;)

Mark - Thanks for the use of the premises, really appreciated the work you put in to make the day a success - That 360 degree laser is awsome.

Kevin - Thanks for the demo of the Pangolin software, i'm off to check my bank balance ;)

Karl - You're a real nice bloke it was a pleasure to meet you, enjoy bankok :D

Paul - Hope non of the others mind if I publicly thank you for your part in the organisation and for getting the tee shirts sent over from Bill.

Aidan, Andy and everyone else (i'm hopeless at remembering names) thanks for being there it wouldn't have been the same without you all.

There were lots of folks there with cameras and I hope some photo's make it onto the Forum so that anyone who didn't or couldn't make it can see what they missed.

I don't know about anyone else, but I had a GREAT day and sorry I had to leave early. Thanks everyone, we'll have to do it again soon !!

Its my Sp168 whitelight which was running at about 2.5W @ 30A tube current. This is the hardest its been run in my posession for any length of time. I reckon all in all it must have been at 2.5W for about 5 hours in total - with a break to cool down as the cables autotransformer & exciter were getting pretty damn hot! All the way home I kept getting wiffs of hot electrical equipment :)
Its a shame the setup has only got g120 scanners on as I would love to have seen the Pangolin Raster scans in full colour - maybe next time if Kev brings his gear again.

Anywas we only had one minor mishap throughout the day when the waste water from the laser slipped its tape fixing into the sink and dumped a few gallons on the floor. Fortunately thanks to our man Adrian - Kevs side kick (or is Kev Adrian's side kick? :)) we got it sorted before too much water escaped and I took to the mop to clear it up. Otherwise the SP168 and everyone elses lasers performed very well save the unfortunate Jem. Not only did he have to leave early and miss out on the evenings events & the food and drink in Firebug but his Blue laser died quite early on in the day :( :( :(. Im sure you will get it sorted Jem and if its any consolation you projector is a credit to you. I didnt take a pic of it bit hopefully andy has cos its a bloody gem (Jem).

Hey Cruch, glad you liked it, we had a laugh doing it :D

As Andy said, that one has a 1250mW laser inside, the 3 mirrors and output window will reduce that by a bit.

it wasnt the darkest venue but you get an idea, i really want to add another to the projector to bring the balance up.

the blue is 800mw and the green will push 1.5w+ it was turned down to get a better ballance,
