Lasers are the forefront of what I do. However as time went on It just made
sense to expand my inventory. I have a big eaw sound rig- no laser show is
worth anything without a powerful system to back it up. As a rule though -I dont do sound events only,- there is no money in it unless you are doing multiple dates-
Basically I do light displays, but I have the ability to offer turnkey packages as well- sound,laser,lighting,and video-
Laser shows have evolved somewhat and my events have become more of a multimedia experience- doing that outside is where the money is- both in profit, but also investment in gear-

:D HA! :D I know your post was meant as a joke, but to be perfectly honest I will not be participating in the drawing for the door prizes, in part to allay any suspicion of exactly such rigging. Besides, the members here on PhotonLexicon have already done quite a lot to help me out over the past several months, so about a month ago I decided to excuse myself from the door prizes. This way it should work out that just about every member will walk away with something.

Besides, Steve Roberts said he's going to bring me a special present... If we can get that sucker to work, it will make me a *very* happy camper indeed! ;)

Hmmm... the "clandestiny systems" chest tattoo is tempting; it just might be worth the pain and permanent scarring just to see the I-400 in operation. :D Too bad it won't fit in Aaron's car though. :rolleyes:

Great news on the amps! I appreciate the support Paul! (Especially since you won't even be there...) An a huge thanks to Aaron for driving down to pick them up. Good going dude!

I guess I'll let Steve Roberts know that we won't need his amp after all. (That might give him more room in his car - I know he was going to be cramped with all the other stuff he's bringing.)

If youre a computer whiz-
can U tell me what "unable to initialize windows sockets interface, error code 0" means, and also winsock failed? It looks like it sends packets but wont receive. I took down the firewall but no good. The IP address, subnet mask are zeros and the default gateway is blank. A little help please?

Looks like I probably wont be bringing the "central PC" for the ethernet hub, but Allthat says he's got that covered. I will(if there's enough time) may be able to come up with a wireless cam direct to DVD-RAM 8 hour stand alone recorder (which I already have) if i can come up with a monitor with RCA type inputs..
Will work on it..

Steve-o, can you tell me about your setup a bit? Is it your home pc? Are you attached to some type of high speed internet, cable, dsl? And do you have a cable/dsl router attached? Also, what type of pc, is it an integrated ethernet or is there an adapter in a pci slot? Also do you have more than one? Aside from adding the web cam, do you make any other changes? I can say that I doubt very much that the card itself has a problem. In 10 years I can count the number of ethernet cards that needed to be replaced due to an actual hardware failure on one hand.

Actually this was the last weekend to get everything ironed out--
It's too late now so i'll show up with what I can..
Yeah I got 2 PCs on a dsl router and the one I was gonna bring crashed when I loaded the bug-ridden logictech-cam disc onto it.
I think i'll bring something else so no worries eh..
It's gettin' late and work tommorrow so I'm just gonna forgetaboutit':) for now --

Hi Steve-o;

Actually, I was planning on using one of my machines as the central server for the Ethernet Network. I have a 450 gig SATA drive that I was going to set up as a fileshare. All you need is one computer that has a working ethernet port so you can connect to the network to swap pictures, videos, etc... When you're done, you disconnect from the network and you're all set.

I have an old Amiga 1084 monitor that has composite video RCA inputs. It's only a 13 inch monitor, but it works... Want me to bring it?

With regard to your network settings, I noticed you said the subnet mask was set to all zeros. That's not correct. It should be 255.255.255.0 if you're setting the conenction up manually. (Truthfully though if you're running Windows XP you should leave everything in auto-detect and let the router assign the settings. Nearly every router supports DHCP these days.)

Like DZ said, it's probably a simple hardware conflict with the camera. Ethernet cards rarely fail. However, I'll bring a spare PCI card to SELEM just in case! Bring what you want; we'll fix it and make it work! :D

Win2000 is fine. Hell, I've even got one machine running Win98! We'll get the network card working - don't sweat it. Though if you already have another machine you want to bring, you can do that. But if you bring the one that doesn't work too, we'll fix it while we're there, so you can go home with TWO working machines! :D

:) OK I'll bring the PC instead of the DVD recorder. I'm sure one of you gurus can figure it out. (I think the registry is corrupted due to my saying "no" to all the registry changes it wanted to make. Hell it wanted me to turn off firewall and antivirus to "ensure all options work correctly" Hell if im going to lower the anti-virus just for a webcam!! BTW it's only 1 PC thats messed up, the other (my good one- the permanently stay-at-home-one)

I'll still try to remember to bring the wireless cam. The quality isnt too good though.
Yeah I know that the IP/TCP isnt correct, but it wont accept changes, even manually, thats the problem. I dont know what affect that would have on an intranet like we're going to have though, I guess all who's hooked up would have to have a unique address.
Win 2K 's ok I just prefer XP. I too have one running on 98 First Ed:D heh.

As they always do when the probability of a hurricane is about to come our way.
Since I am the "transmitter guy" I have to get the site ready.
Get 3000gals of Diesel fuel for the generator and button down the hatches.

Also, Next week I am going to the spine center and have the doc poke around.
I've been told he likes to admit his patients imediatelly.. I hope so, I've had enough pain. So that may mean that I might get some time off work for good behavior from the salt mine for a few months..

Again, I will be missing a most awesome event, I really wanted to go and have some fun for a change and hang-out with you guys.. but not this time.
But my heart will be there.

I got the two Maxyz modules installed in my projector, and the alignment is a snap to dial in. 400 mw of lovely red. It looks awesome. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures though.

BTW, I used your idea and mounted the PBS cube on a 90 degree angle "L" bracket so the glue is on the bottom of the cube rather than on the polished face. (I glued the bracket to the mount first, and then clued the cube to the bracket.) Works great!

Don't sweat the Lasagna. We'll just order pizza from that joint just down the street. I was planning to swing by there on Friday and pick up a menu anyway so we'd know what they've got... Besides, they deliver to the auditorium, so we won't even have to leave to eat.

OT, I was going to save this until we got there but Adam suggested Ipoet it. Since I have it and don't ever use it, I'd like to donate to the door prize pit my copy of LDS with the USB dongle. I have used it two or three times on the QM2000, but... always stop the shows before they finish. It just doesn't compare well to the big "P"... :rolleyes: So... it is in the pit. >:)

The pizza place is called "Geppetos Pizza" Phone 828-464-7833. When you walk out of the Artist Cafe it's on the other side of the block facing you to the left, they have pizza, calzone, manicotti, lasagna, subs, salads and a few other things all available for delivery.

If your in for a quick burger or BBQ "Little Pigs BBQ" 1904 N Main Ave. Phone 828-464-6293. They are located on NC16/N Main Ave. same street the Trott House is on about 3/4 mile N of it, both are easy to find from where SELEM is being held.

If my plan goes off without a hitch I'd like to be cruising through JAX around 5am... I'd like to leave at 2am and I think it is about 3 hours to JAX but my girlfriend has the same opinion of me... :rolleyes: How long does it take you to get to the I26/I95 junction? It has been at least 8 or so years since I was even close to that area. :o It would be nice to get there around the time Adam does.

Good question, I don't think I've ever been there before. Acording to Streets and Trips, its about 3.5 hours from Jax.

Dodge Chargers, and SUVs..so keep it .. uh .. out of trouble..
