Yes, exactly, that will work for the timer system. :)
The 500Hz generator cct is built and connected up as is all the other connections to make it operate according to Ben and Bart :)
I am getting the 'FAULT' LED lit with the 'TMP FLT' LED lit also on the driver board?
Any ideas please?
That means that one of the 4 temperatures on the laser/board is not where it should be. I would guess that it is the thermistor that pulgs into JHS1, it should be 10k, I would make sure that is pluged in. Next I would check the PTC device on the main board, it was replaced with a resistor as the stock part was distroyed, and was impossible to find a replacement for. There should be a resistor there, make sure it is connected to the board.
Check page 69 in the manual for a flowchart on diagnosing it.
OK, sorry, didn't get back here in time.
Thanks for the reply Ben.
I cured that and it was the resistor you mentioned come adrift.
Now when I reset the system, LED1 (PS) lights and so does LED11 (TEC) - I get a flash of green light a second or so later and then the Fault LED lights along with V-FLT LED4 (page 68) which is the diode voltage too high.
I am running the PSU at 230V remember and not 110v as you would have been - could this make a difference? It shouldn't I know but..... :)
Its working :D :D
I turned down the 1K pot I has controlling the voltage to pin8 and it struck up :)
Congrats, good work! How much power does it output?
It's pegging my Lasercheck (1W) and that is the only power meter I have so I don't truly know for sure.
It makes a mess of the cardboard box it was aimed at :)
It wont go over 26A Ben without tripping out.
I have wound up the current monitoring pot to allow full threshold but when I bring the current pot, the one I added controlling the 0-5v on Pin 8, up it reaches 26A and then trips. It won't let me take it any higher?
Any clues as to why this is doing this please?
The issue is the supply voltage. It should be exactly 3.3V +-0.05V. If not, it will trip the fault light. I would guess this is because of the change in input voltage. Can you power it with 120V?'
Check page 68 in the manual.
