... yes, had this idea too and even enough memory wire and special (some of my old "proffessional DIY-ed") precise regulated current drivers for them - the mini-tweezer in the first video-sequence is driven/activated with memory wire ;)
Have enough other micro- and nano-actors, so not really a problem to get it moving ... only the time and motivation to find ...

... after the last Christmas action my middle sister also got a taste for it - but instead of "local snowflakes" she prefers to have a series of "witch's houses" 8)
She recently drew two and I vectorized them and lasered them out of 0.3mm brass - this could be the start of a series, if she finds nice motif templates ...

... got some 20W- and 25W@808nm-laserdiode-modules recently - one bigger housing with complex optics inside, three smaller types with bundled fibers to the FSMA-outlet:
Will build some "locally focussed pre-heaters" for SLS and wire-fusing with them :cool:

... and here another FAP-diode - but this one is not IR, but around 680nm and should have max. power of 5 or 7 Watts ... have to determine, when (re)assembled a driver for 20 Amperes.
Her ist's below 1 Amp as "LED" (the single fibers visible in the far-field) ... at around 2 Amps in the threshold, start lasering ... and at around 7 Amps with roughly 3 Watts output ...

... got a 500Watt@808nm-diode - first test with 9 Amps OK (starts lasering at around 8 Amps) ... will need something like 70 Amps for full power!
The attached images: first, sitting on a cooler with peltiers (25W-diode for comparison) ... direkt output from the FSMA connector ... through attached glass fiber ... and last - opened, to see the guts ...
