I got this projector box from Goldenstar last week, I thought everyone might be interested to see it -
Fit and finish is excellent, the key switch is removable only when off, and as you can see, all the usual connectors are in place ready to wire, as well as 11 fans.
It costs as much to ship it here as I paid for it - $195.

Curious, have you actually 'worked' on these, yet? (As-in, tried to drill or tap the Alum?) I ask, since a couple models of these 'cases', I've seen, in helping others, trying to bring them 'compliant' / repairs, etc, I found that the Alum was.. 'wierd'... Like, kinda 'gummy' or.. just.. didn't 'like' being tapped, etc.. lots of cutting-oil, and even so, seemed to 'dislike' being tapped.. I'd guessed they were using some 'cheap alloy', or (??) but.. Seems kinda silly to 'mess up the Aluminum', lol.. :) Just curious as-to your observations / experience with drilling / tapping these boxes, if-any, thus-far.. :cool:
PS - fwiw, these make great 'front-side Emission Indicators', http://www.galco.com/buy/Idec/AP8M122-W for those that lack them (..and most, seem to..)

I've been using these for my 10W builds. No problems with the alloy, it holds a thread well. Seems a bit softer than the t6 I normally use, but actually seems easier to tap a as result if anything. My only complaints about these cases are the baseplate's are a bit thin, but that's easy enough to swap if need be.
They're pretty solid, perhaps a bit heavy once fully built, but well made. Just barely enough room for a 10W, using 2x dhom greens, would be lots of room to spare if using laserwave modules.
I have one of these got it last week and what a pile or crap!
Very poor finish, dirty and just crap quality.

I don't really like this case too, because of the poor finish, but also for the incredible number of fans.
Why did they put 7 fans (!!!) on the optical deck? This is the only way to have lots of dust on the optics.
The good solution should have been to put the fans on the power/electronic deck .
Other important notice : your box seems to have 3 fans for air input and 4 for the output on the optical deck. The result is that the air will come from the output window and will soil your scanners mirrors. (higher extraction flux than air input)
I'm not trying to start anything but... keep in mind this is a $195 box. With fans, connections, keyswitch, flightcase, etc.
An LT1000 case is $2000+ and doesn't even have a hole cut in it for the light to come out!
I've not actually seen one but, it's probably not "THAT" bad, all things considered. (And you don't "need" to supply power to every fan... jus sayin')
For a hobbyist, it's probably a very good deal.
That thing is not just UGLY...
it very poorly designed, most to the fans are on the optical deck,
corners are sharp, and bolts heads sticking out....whats right with it?
I'll give you that the design isn't great with WAAYY too many fans. I can't speak for the edges. The bolts? Eh... that doesn't upset me too much. But it is kinda fugly! I think we may see one of these in person at SELEM so, I'll shut up and reserve any more judgement until after that. :)
