http://laserpointerforums.com/f47/ho...-tv-32628.html
Actually SLTVM2007 has not explained a damn thing. We knew it was a resonant scanner from day one. He may have given details of a resonant structure, but parts of that do not add up. He does not explain how to correct the phasing and drift of the resonant scanner. Commercial systems that do this have complex feedback networks, etc.
The fast green direct DPSS modulation, albeit at very low powers, has yet to be explained.
Oh, wait, you are sltvm2007... Trolling for your ego?
Steve
isnt stainless steel non-magnetic? how is he using an electromagnet to vibrate the stainless steel?
(me not making any statements about the mystery projector)
If a material is not attracted by a permanent magnet, does not mean it has no magnetical properties.
Classical example: take a coin that is not attracted by a magnet, lay it on a wooden table.
Now quickly move a strong permanent magnet parallel to the table over the coin.
It moves ! Even though it wasn't attracted in the first place.
Restoring torque of Kuntman's scanner is very strong, hence it has a very sharp
resonant (no phase drift problem); therefore no need for any position detectors and complex feedback controls.
This scanner has these main features:
- No MEMS
- No acousto-optical-modulators
- No need for complex feedback controls.

Reply to flecom and -bart-
Yes you are right. Stainless steel is usually non-magnetic. Mirror material should be magnetic. By the word 'stainless' we have intended to mean 'good reflectivity'.
Thanks.
Hmmm, we've been here before haven't we... O_o You even earned an "FU" smiley didn't you? *vigil
Hi.. For all details of Kuntman's scanner-projector and its applications: scanning camera and lidar:

Mechath you dont have to double post ;)
There is a nice edit button whenever you post.
..Well, I was up-late doing a logo-conversion for a friend, which had a 'phoenix' in it... when, suddenly.. it all flashed before me... it's all so-clear now!
..Here's how it all works for the rest of you 'simpletons' -
[REDACTED] :p
...hey, what's a little editorial satire / something to brighten-up Steve's day among friends, eh? :p
cheers..

I just caught myself chuckling like Butthead following that scheme - attick

Hey don't knock the potato, everyone know's its the future of portable laser power:

Seriously though, if this was possible, I believe Bill Benner would have done it given his experiments with the beam brush, which must be a similar principle, and the fact that he's currently developing his own scanners.
However, if I can be proven wrong and you can make Cambridge beating scanners for $10, I will be delighted to be proven wrong.

Dear methhack -
Good, glad you took it in the 'spirit' with-which it was intended.. Only 'point' was - kudos to your pioneering-spirit, and-all - that's what this place it all-about - but,
you must-realize - the sum-total of researching-skill / intelligence in this community is pretty-doggone phenominal... you've got peeps, younger than 20 / early-20s, working on near-zero budgets, etc, and whom consistently demonstrate astonishingly-brilliant thinking, solid-methodology, and are able to quantify / demonstrate their research / finds, with known / measurable techniques and standards...
..but, when we see pix of what looks like low-grade pointer-cores / el cheapo-maximo modules and pretty questionable-lookin test-rigs.. (..let-alone any sort of test-validation equipment, ie: even anything like an O-scope, etc...), and when calls for more data / clarification / counter-points from the experienced-world of actual laser R+D, get met with '..no problem..'-replies?.... well, this all starts to feel like... well.. like the 'editorial-comic', there... :)
So, keen to see some-more verifiable-data, and tech-questions squarely-answered, vs sidestepped / whitewashed... [popcorn]
cheers..
j
Jon, you forgot the "666" timer chip.
ROFLMAO.
That bird will be hand digizited as the new Laser Wizardry East Logo!
(if you dont mind!)
GREAAAT...`
Heh, well, I'm pretty-sure there's one of those in the 'Lucky Star'.. :) ...you know, right next to the Illudium Q-36 Space / hi-speed DPSSL Modu-la-tor *retardo
peas..
j
Oh, PS - sure, digitize-away... just make sure I get a t-shirt... :)
jon, you also forgot the flyback control.
..Shoot, I knew-it! Thanks, methhack.. fortunately for the World, I was drawing-again tonite... schwew! ..now I'm Winning! :p

Think you've cracked it now Jon with the Flyback control.
My old physics teacher always used to say things are twice as efficient with the ex-wife out of the way!
(Never did say HOW he got rid of her though :knife:)
Beam brush does work but it's just not perfect, not sure what point ur trying to make here.
They never said something about scanners for 10$ they only mentioned cheaper then cambridge.
Instead of bashing someones current projects, you might as well contact and inquire more information before you do something like that.
I was having a bit of fun. The Youtube vids of it working are seriously impressive.
BTW the $10 reference was something I read over there. Can't be bothered to re-read every post but in post#7 of the LPF forums it does say cost is only a few dollars in components.
The point I was making more seriously above was that from a laser scanner point of view, as opposed to a tv scanner point of view, if this technology was so good, don't you think Pangolin would have realised when making their beam brush that this had a projector application as I believe its a similar principle to that used for the beam brush.
As a tv scanner, I'm not knocking it, in fact I'm very impressed at the skill.
View this and compare with your beam brush

Or something else?

Awaiting your reply Al >:)
:D
HaHa... PMSL at your drawing Jon:D
Just had a read through this thread, can't say I make head nor tail of it, but the image of the High frequency generator parrot stylee had me in stitches :D
You missed your calling in life Jon, you should have been a professional cartoonist ;)
I fink it is Mr MechHack ;)
heh, yeah, that's what I tried to tell all my teachers in school.. '..no, really, but I *am* 'taking notes', ma'am!..' *retardo
..Again, Sir methhack, I think you underestimate this Community...
[EXAMPLE] ..what's a few mouse-clicks, really... :p
...anyhoo, point-was, if you'd better-substantiate some of the tech-assertions, and supply real-world data to the counter-points from the experienced-world of actual laser R+D, vs airy '..no problem..'-replies? I think you'd find that there are those, here, that could likely help you with some of the issues that would clearly plague this design, for a commercial-application... There's some pretty-dern smart folk, here.. and I'm amongst the dumberer... :p
ciao

I see the artists signature on the fourth pic.
As I said before all details are now available on LPF post#150 - post#170.

Thanks daodzo.
Now I know BTW Bill.
I see his photo.
And put here a self portrait. Made 26 years ago. When I was 37.
I dedicate it to jon.
I cannot understand the jargon of your generation.
And because of lack of my English, I prefer to express myself by pictures and graphics.
Good Sir Mec -
Very-nice... Looks to be oil.. clearly, you studied-well, nice brush-work, nice tonal-build, expressive color... I won't post any of my opaque-medium works.. I'd rather that the perception of my motives for doing-so, not be 'mis-interpreted'... ie: I did not post the pencils to 'compete' or somehow 'put you down' - nor was the 'editorial comic' meant to be 'harsh'... Just a good-humored 'jab' at the somewhat, shall we say, 'undercooked meat' of your design / proposal-details... theres' some pretty-savvy tech-people, in here, and they will pick-apart any 'brainchild', that gets posted here... like coyotes on a carrion ;) ..which, imo (in my opinion.. :) is a good thing... ..we all-learn, that way...
It wasn't any 'lack of English'-skills, people were groaning-about, it is more of, this community, as a 'whole', needing to see a more 'methodical' / data-based research-approach, before they'll be willing to 'swallow the hook'... And - don't forget ' Google is your friend :) if / when you don't understand something...
Anyhoo, cheers to you for your pioneering-spirit, and don't let my silly shennanigans or 'comix', whatever, dissuade you from your creations.. but I will say - and 'repeat' - you might consider some of the 'feedback' you get as juuust-maybe, holding-out some valid counter-perspectives / useful-data..
ciao
j
Thanks jon, for nice words, encouragement and advice.
You will find bellow a picture of an image projected by my scanner.
I hope you will consider this one also as an art work.
Sorry to keep coming back to this but who did that music? The Spazzharmonic Omgestra ?? Just really breathtaking , I mean .. really . .

Not sure if he knows the 'source', but that jewel was a 'swami-find'.... This was a conspiracy-project between swami, Herr Janitorr, and one Gringo Logo... :p
..and yes - 'breathtaking' is the perfect word for that... that... that 'Odyssey of Wrong'... :)
..but I have to say... Retardo's timing was flawless... *retardo
BTW, it's even funnier after a couple a *DZ... best-ready a handkerchief... :p
