Quad stacking systems New version.

Hello guys

I have developed a new stacking system and to keep the development train going i decided to sell them.

The stacking system are 4 mirrormounts that can slide over the horizontal axis and secured by a big bolt. This is perfect for setting the
mirror mounts in position. Once the mirormounts are in the right position you can raise the diodemount to the preferred heigh to shoot over
the mirror from the mount before that. Because the big bolt bolts everything together nothing moves. Rob stanwax has a quad red and he was very impressed with the stability. The system is that stable in alignemt that even when it gets over 60 degrees nothing moves*retardo
The colour of the baseplate is matched with the quad that your building. There will be a 4 channel driver available. Each channel can drive one diode up to 2.5 amp. It will also have a suppression for the blue diodes so there is no faint light when there is no modulation.
Building a red module willl get you a 3.5 x 3.5 beam with 0.65mrd>:) With this system you can also build an RB module to get you that tiny system. I can also deliver an 8 combiner but that is more for the experianced builder. Stacking 8 of them is not that easy;)Hobbybob will pick up his 8 combiner doing 1.6 watt of red. Do a mix of 2 open cans and 2 637,s or even 4 opencans and 4 637,s. Its all possible with this system :D The 8 combiner comes without a baseplate so only the stacking system. The size of the internal part is 50mm in lenght. The total baseplate is 70mm x90mm

This Kit comes with the following parts:

1 stacking system including baseplate with either a blue or red baseplate.
4 electronic circuitboards to connect the diodes and lasorbs with your driver.
4 screwretainers for holding optima lenses so no glueing is required
4 mirrors for red or blue

Optional: Black anodisized topcover made out of 1 piece solid alluminium
4 channel high side driver up to 2.5 amps per channel. Input voltage 6-24 volt
Red lenses

I can deliver them from stock so there is no waiting for manufacturing this time. ;)

Prices :

KIT will be 200 euro incl shipping and paypal fees.

Optional cover: 50 euro,s
Lenses: 92 euro,s

Hey edison, looking good. Can you give a comparison chart between these and the older version? *vigil

This system is more flexible in therms of stacking. Every diode can be set in height by its own while the other system has 2 diodes that can be stacked on another 2. Its possible to shoot 2 pairs of stacked beams in a PBS to get a Super thight beam. That is not possible with the
system from the KIT of the groupbuy. But the KIT is just another way of stacking. Both systems are very stable in alligment because they have the same
mirrormount ;)

*drool*........

are the drivers also available together with the kit?

yes badpip is working hard to finish it so he can start with mass production :-)

Looking great johan, i like the uber univerasal way. You can just mix and match any setup you pefer.

About hobbybobs 1.6w, what is the current you give each diode?

So you could run this as a Red and Blue in one box?

I need to hit the lotto so I can feed this addiction.

Thanks, I will bring some kits to the Lem to show how it works. The current per diode was 360ma. I didn,t use peltiers underneath the one from Hobbybob. Didn,t have enough peltiers at themoment. Yes you can mix red and blue in a setup but you need to balance the number of 637,s with 1 445 diode. But yes this system is very flexible:) Took me quite some time and prototypes to get to this point. Don,t aks me even about the costs. But i,m almost there where i want to be.

looks expensive lol

Hello guys

I decided to do a massive price drop on these kits because i need the money to pay for my Green lasers in my projectors.[popcorn] Everything must go so i adjusted the price. This a one time of and i can deliver them from stock with either a blue or red baseplate:)

Prices :

Kit: 200 euro
Lenses 92 euro
Topcover : 50 euro.

Thanks for looking:)

Good to see you recieved the retainers I sent you Johan.

What lenses are recommended if we were doing this as a quad blue?

I would go for an O-like. I have a beamtable to replace the 2 first diodemounts so you can build a 2 watt blue with prism pair to get excellent beamspecs when using a 405g2 lens and a prismpair. I have a long baseplate so you can build even a 4 watt blue in a PBS if you want with PBS. This system is flexible and so you can do most of the combinations. ;)

With the quad version you can build:

quad red
quad blue without pbs
RB-module doing 3 reds and 1 blue ( with the use of a dichro)

Replacing the first 2 mounts for the beamtable you can:

Dual blue with PBS
Dual blue with prism pair

Use only 3 mounts will get you :

3 watt blue with or without PBS ( you need a waveplate for 1 blue when using a PBS)
3 reds with PBS with very thight beam.
RB module doing 1 blue and 2 reds when using a dichro

I can deliver every combination from stock :) Like Mccarrot said its universal. :)

I assume that these beam specs are achieved with the 637 nm diodes that you mentioned. Do you also need a PBS cube to get those specs?

Can I use other(cheaper) red diodes with this setup (Given that this would be my first laser project and I don't really want to learn by popping some nice diodes)?

The beamspecs will get you also with the LPC822 and LPC826 diodes. So yes you can use them in this system.

This sale is closed. The information about why and how can be find in this thread:

sorry:(

I'm sorry to hear this Johan. Are you still continueing building modules for your own company?

All you need is a distributers who take care of the commercial hazzle, so you can spend your time on devolping more nice modules.

Sorry to hear that because of the time you have spent for that...

I wouldn't take this as Gospel .... like most of us he is an addict ! :hypnotized:

Addicts are not necessarily well balance personalities but they don't just give up, they need a new hit sooner or later ! *vigil

He is just pissed off with the heavy criticism since (as taggalucci pointed out,) he is a designer NOT a business man ! :arrogant:
I think that for him money is just an intermediate state of funding leading to the next purchase of bits for the next design. :disdain:
He doesn't treat it with the same respect as those who complain about him, much the same occurs with time! :sidefrown:

I was like that about a hundred years ago when I was younger ! >:)

Don't worry he'll bounce back again soon I'm sure! :th_Jttesur:

Cheers

Are you saying he provided less than satisfactory customer service because he's a "designer" so we should just shrug it off and.....? Just because one's idea of dealing with (OTHER PEOPLE'S) money is different than everyone else, doesn't make it right.

When attempting to defend someone in a public setting, it's best to be able to point out why they're innocent. Making excuses for why they're not just looks funny, ya know?

First out ... I am not attempting to defend him at all I am simply expressing a personal opinion !

I have absolutely no idea whatsoever what his commitments are or to whom they are owed !

If I did have, I might well be tempted to defend him simply because a few people seem to be attacking him right now.

By the looks of things you personally are also pretty hell bent on attacking me as well .....just because I like the guy !

If it "looks funny" to you, maybe it is just your personal perspective !

I have my own views on things, and couldn't give a tinkers cuss whether they coincide with those of a perceived majority !

Cheers

I know how I'd feel if I had paid hard earned money ages ago, still not received my purchased items and no clear end of the saga in sight to me finally getting my property.

It's ok for those who have been lucky enough to receive their kits, spare a thought for those still without them.

I do understand where you are coming from mate!
I paid for two kits via paypal on 3rd May .... I still have not received them and I am in EU (almost next door in Aussie terms) .... so please don't think this is a case of "I'm all right jack" *vigil

As I already pointed out to Platinum... I am NOT defending Johan ... I am merely stating my opinion based on many years of experience interacting with young people.
I like his designs.... I think he is honest ... I think he is rather to ambitious in terms of the speed he wants to develop stuff at and I also think that any delays that he suffers at the hands of his suppliers get passed on to his "clients" since he appears to be running on a shoe string.

The only advantage for these clients is the quality/price relationship which is pretty good for a hobbyist.

If some of his clients (like me) are slotting his stuff into commercial ventures and therefore are considerably and adversely affected by any delays, we should be able to absorb this with a reasonable amount of patience.

Hobbyists NEED access to this type of well designed gear even if it means waiting.

Piling on the pressure will NOT help them at all IMHO, ... however looking for a solution might !

I am unaware of the details involved in this GB other than what I have been able to read (the same as you, probably ) and while I think your advice is good, I sense a great deal of hostility within other PL members and a tendency to take the moral high ground which I (personally) find tedious.

I am sure you can read between the lines well enough to see how Johan's limited ability to express himself is causing a great deal of rumpus. I have the same problem myself when trying to communicate with him.
All I am saying is ....let him try and sort it out .... which I personally can see is exactly what he is trying to do .... without steamrolling him unnecessarily into a corner.

PL members tend to be very generous (some incredibly so) so why not extend some of that generosity (in terms of patience NOT $) to someone who right now has his back against the wall, despite apparently having made every attempt to alleviate his clients problems by sending the eagerly awaited quads to a fellow PL member in USA when his communications with Adam hit an impasse in a critical moment.

Cheers

SOLD OUT SORRY*retardo
