Dutchlem 2013 - Friday 15 until Sunday 17 FEBRUARY !

Hi All,

Today i had a nice conversation with McCarrot about a new DutchLEM.
We agreed i would organise the LEM in February in MARRUM and McCarrot would organise the Dutchlem in Ilpendam after Summer Holiday.

Ok, so i called the caretaker Fred and went by to make some agreements.
The date which was still free was February 15 until February 17th 2013 (Friday to Sunday!).
We can sleep in the hall, he can make us breakfast for ridiculously low prices, you can order beer for low prices to, snacks are on order.

ADDRESS:
City Hall "De Nije Tille"
Ringweg 21
9073 HG MARRUM
The Netherlands

The only thing he asked is if he could invite people again for a 1 hour show on Saturday from 8.30pm till 9.30pm.
These people will be mainly his family and some friends from the village. He will charge them 2 euros (Cup of coffee included).
This way he can raise some money for the repairs / future enhancements of the hall.
For instance, when we are there there will be cable internet (possibly 80Mbit).

I said, just like last time, i don't object if it will help him raise some money (we pay the ridiculously low rent of 100 euro for 3 days).
If we set price to 20 euros per person i am sure i can talk him into delivering us a fabulous chinese buffet again on Saturday night (which was 12 euro's last time per person) and free coffee and tea all weekend! Maybe he will include breakfasts in that amount too, i will keep you posted. You can sleep in the former 3 class rooms in the hall, so no need for hotel rooms.

If it is really a problem we can also organise the event 1 week later but for now i'd like to see who would be interested if we organised it 15-17th February!

Who is interested ? I will update the topic with the names of the people who show interest.

Present
1. Dimitri
2. Manfred
3. Reinder

Maybe:
Koen ?

HobbyBob,

I would like to make this event, if it is Ok with you? Hopefully some more of the Uk crowd could join? I would personally prefer one week later, as this is the weekend after Valentines Day and normally I take my partner away that weekend. But as we are getting married next year, I am sure she would understand :) Sorry for romance in a post, but we Brits can be romantic! Anyway she knows the rules are "love me, love my lasers" lol

Sounds great, so count me in!

Cheers

Steve

Steve, man up. Show her who's boss from the start, or you will end up like me. Down trodden.

I would love to attend, and the boss says yes. Only thing as last time is transport, Bit of a struggle on a plane with kit so if any other UK member fancy driving and would likr someone to share the costs, give me a shout. I missed the first one and would love to make it to this one.

Tony

I'm in, I think I will be there at saturday and sunday>

i would like to be there too, its a 3 hour drive i am willing to take

i am just wondering, i have only just started, and my stuff is too cheap-ass to take for show-and-tell

i suppose its no problem i leave my stuff home, besides i broke my only galvo scanner too

I'm in too!

Please bring your stuff, hobbyist projects are much more interesting than this 13 in a dozen multiwatt megabucks projector.
Besides, galvo mirrors can be glued.

I will be there maybe. With a few new 3~4 laser projector beamshows and graphics shows.
No ponies I promise.

I might take 3 to 4 laser projectors with me.
All RGB

Yes i totally agree Bart!!! Projects are great to see. I bring a few modules and maybe a projector. :)

Hey dudes, you all rock.
I would love to see the guys from England teaming up and driving together to get here. It's too much fun and hopefully other people will be interested to join me too in coming over in April to the UKLEM which is also always very nice.
Bring all your projects along, be it a multimillion dollar projector you bought or your home made projector in a wooden box.
We all started once you know, so bring your kit, maybe someone will be able to help you fix your gear if it is broken or needs improvements.
These events have shown to be the most valuable events in learning stuff. People are willing to share in this easy and cosy atmosphere more easily.
And all the persons together have a vast amount of knowledge so don't miss this ! be there !

Hi Dimus ;)

I'm not already say yes to this but i think i will come over, at least for 1 day.

Someone wanting to carpool? For one person the public transport is about as expensive as gas costs, so I'd be more than happy to split the benzine bill with someone.

it all depends on where we come from
as i will be taking one or two friends with me,
I have filled up my ride quite a bit...
Unless you live in Eindhoven (or REALLY close) and are on your own,
I might be able to take you (my car isnt that big)

Drop me a mail. I probably come too. Not 3 days however.

Ah yes, my location might be a crucial information part I have forgot :P
I live nowhere near Eindhoven, but someplace between Kortrijk and Oudenaarde, so other side of Belgium...
But in any case, Eindhoven is a lot cheaper to reach by train (and avoids that expensive Fyra!).

A big thanks for the offer, but this looks like a better alternative:

Hi Jeroen, long time no see!
PM incoming...

Hey guys, good to hear from you after such long time. It was nice meeting you back 2 years ago or so JeeJeeDr at CMB's house!
Would be nice to see you guys from Belgium. Let me know when you know when you want to come over.
You could also come in on thursday evening and then drive with us the last 2 hours from here ? That way you don't have to drive the whole stretch in one go ?
I have room/space enough to house you guys for 1 night. That also is valid for people coming from the UK ofcourse. Last year with my birthday 24 people slept here, so all the LEM attendees are more then welcome to stay over thursday on friday, Fridaymorning we will leave around 10 o'clock towards the hall in Marrum , which is in the North of Holland (Friesland) and about a 2 hr drive.

Hey Dimitri, no idea which day(s) I would come. It depends a bit of the schedule. I'm not afraid of the distance. Its only a four hour drive.

Hi you all,

I will try to visit. Don't know wich day(s) yet but i'm gonna ask a day or more off to be able to visit.
Don't know if there is water around there but maybe i can bring the waterscreen with me if you like. Just to have some fun with it ;)

Is it possible to drop a mattress somewhere and stay for the night(s)?

In that case, I would be inclined to stay for one or two days.

Yes interested ;-)

hopefully no family events planned this time.

perhaps we can race also again

Michel

will anyone take a LPM with him?

i am very curious as to what my pointers/modules are actiually outputting

Yes plenty of people having a PM. Mccarrot has a very good PM. I,m in the process of buying a new PM. I,m planning to order a new one this week. It can go up till 15 watt so that should be enough. :)

should i take the friday off, or will you start late in the evening?

i will be there and will take at least one friend

Yup. The first UK member has announced to be present! I will pick him up on thursday and bring him friday.
Really cool. Hopefully more UK members join in, but until now haven't heard from others, except Daniel and RGBee who are not able to make it, unfortunately.

Dimitri

Johan thanks for the offer, if I think of anything I will let you know, will be good to meet you in the flesh.

I'm looking forward to putting a few faces to names, across the water. My wife has kindly offered to pay for the flights!! I think she just wants me out the way.

Unfortunitly I don't think I will be able to bring a PJ with me so will be drinking tea, and nicking any good ideas.

See you all soon.

I shall have my laptop, and FB3. Thanks Johan. I'm hoping that there is lots of projectors being opened and tinkering, I'm also more into building them, than doing shows.

Tony

I'll be there saturdaymorning till sunday.
I'll bring :
2 laser power meters, one of which has been recently calibrated.
1 or 2 green projectors.
Laptop with FB3 QS / beyond
Some measurement devices, CRO, currentclamp, etc
Some beads and mirrors

Hi all. I will be there on saturday and stay until sunday.

I will bring:
- Green/Blue projector.
- G-tech converted to RGB
- QM.Net
- A Netgear 8 port gigaswitch. (Maybe we can use it to do some multiscanner shows ;) )
- Laptop with LD2000 Basic and Beyond.
- APC40
- Some cable's

If there's someone with some spare time, I like to explore beyond some more. Have some question about stuff how to... ;)

If everything goes well (no snow storms ) I should be there along with jeejeedr, from saturday noon until sunday.
I'll bring my laptop + LSX (and possibly the MIDI controller as well). I can give demonstrations of the software, but I'd like to play around with Beyond as well.

ill be coming alone probably, from friday till sunday, and will tak my stepper motor greenie..
(mostly for power measuring)

i will take my pointers too for the same reason

i come mostly for learning, i wish to build a projector from some old parts
and any help is appreciated

i am in the market for some analog drivers, if someone is able to sell one or two for cheap
i could be taking them home :)

I'll come from saterday around noon till sunday afternoon.
I'll bring a 3W rgb and moncha.net probably.

Dudes! this is excellent news.

@Tony: no problem to take the early flight, then we'll just leave in time and we have a nice and copious breakfast at Schiphol airport ?

Looking forward to see all you guys.
I will be there with Tony from friday noon until sunday till we stop.

Let me know if anyone is interested after the breakup to have a dinner in the local WOK restaurant (around 25 euros per person) so i can make reservations.
Could be nice to conclude this weekend together and people that will have to drive to belgium then don't have to leave on a empty stomach.

Hi every one,

Hope you are all doing great. I would like to be there, but unfortunately I am not able to come.
I wish you all a nice weekend and hope to see you all on the Dutchlem after summer holidays.

best regards,

My flights have just been confirmed and paid for, see all of you soon, I can't wait.

Dimitri, top man. I will PM you the flight details soon.

Tony.

@tony: you rock! Look forward seeing you again.
I can find a nice indian restaurant to go eat on thursday night ?
Just like we did last time during the UKLEM.

Indian's my middle name, well Gordon William really but don't tell anyone:cool:

will arrive on saturday end of the morning and leave sunday early in the afternoon.
after the weekend it is the kids holiday and have to bring them to my parents for sleepover.

cu saturday ;-)

I will try to visit friday also. Depending of the workload. I,m expecting some stuff to finish my second projector so i will bring 2 projectors hopefully, a red 637nm, a blue 1.5 watt and an RB module. I also will bring a shitload of stuff for the for sale table like fans, dust covers , metalparts , etc. Good oppertunity to clear out the workshed:)

I would like to buy some flexmounts.

Also, anybody has a spare badpipquad, willing to sell ?

I have 10 in stock i can bring them. ;)

not coming - again^^ already one and a half year searching for a new red laser module.....i have my hopes up for end march this time.

Once my projector is complete id like to go to every lem in the neithbourhood again. i love them but simply want to have a piece of awesomeness with me as well^^

Why would you not go to a LEM because you don't have a red laser module?!
That is a bit disproportional to me... I won't be bringing any laser gear myself.

i know i know...i just feel like i want to finish this projector before attending to other laser related stuff.

Come on Borg, I'm coming and I will only have a laptop.

I might bring a 1 watt/638 if i can squeeze one extra in. We can stick it in with double sided tape if the projector is finished overal. I might have it with me but i can,t promise anything. Then you can see how it looks. ;)

meh then i'd fall in love and would spend way more money then i should *retardo
