Hi all
I search here to find if any one was experimenting with this red but no luck:(
Any one try one of this?
Comments?
I see DTR just have this in stock and want to try one, if is similar to the HL63133DG.
Thanks and cheers,
Ed

Yea just got them in. In the limited testing I have done on them they seem to perform near the same as the HL63133DG as far as power and beam specs.

Good to see another 638 single mode :D
Bloody confusing having 520 in the model number - I thought these were greens! :)
If these mitsus are like any of the others, with adequate cooling, they'll probably do 250mw without breaking a sweat.
anyone tested these yet? are they case isolated?
Ok, I kill mine :(
I just order two more, but first I need more data.
I think, I kill this because I adjust the bias and forgot to check the Gain, it went to 315mW from the
300mA that I originally put.
So this look to be very sensitive.
And I found two different data sheets one with max. current of 290mA and tip. of 230mA,
and the other with no max. data and typ. of 215mA.
Need more input.......
or experience.

PS and yes they are case isolated.
Sorry to hear about the death of your diode. These diodes are puzzling to me.
I have four of these diodes I received for Christmas but I have not powered them up yet as I am
totally unsure of the proper polarity. My diodes have only two pins, there is no pin attached to the case. Both datasheets I have found show
three leads. DTR's datasheet is too blurry to decipher and the other one I found is numbered differently.
I would greatly appreciate if you can tell me how you connected your diode to get it to work.
While looking at the back of the diode (Pin side), with the larger of the three flange notches up, is the Anode on the left or right?
Thank you in advance for your help.

"While looking at the back of the diode (Pin side), with the larger of the three flange notches up, is the Anode on the left or right?"
On the left is the Anode (+).
Also when I check the polarity with my Voltmeter, maybe I start to damage the diode:confused:
(I choose my Vomm with the less volts to check diodes 2.5 Volts)
I hope this help

Thank you megaton.
I just powered up one of my diodes per your advice and it works beautifully! You saved me from frying
at least one diode, I am sure.
Cheers
Laserbiker:)
Glad to help
By the way, at what max current are you running your red?
