Dont know if there are troubles depending on the version it runs with but I have used it ok with 2.95 - I seem to remember Kevski had trouble when we set his up with a new version of wa
Rob
it seems to be working now.
i re-installed win amp and it is ok now. gonna do a full test on it now and ill let you know
ollie :D
It runs better on the newer versions of Winamp, but it's supposed to be OK all the way down to version 3.something. It *might* work below that, but no promise of stability.
I can say that it works flawlessly on V5.54 though!
Adam
Really?
That's great news :)
I never wanted to install a Winamp version higher than 2.95 as I know that was proven stable and I was reluctant to install a newer version in case I had problems - As they say 'If it aint broke don't fix it' ;)
I'm sure I read somewhere that there were issues with newer versions and the plugins. That's now my job for the weekend - Try the latest version of Winamp, thanks Adam :)
Are you sure there are no problems with either the LivePRO plugin OR the Winamp visualisations. I have a few really neat oscilloscope/wave type patterns that I would really miss if they didn't work :D
Cheers
Jem
mine is working fine now
dont think ill use it though unless someone can tell me a reason for it.
i though it would sync all the graphics individually to the beat but all i can get it to do is run automaticaly and my laser do that anyway.
am i using it wrong?
cheers oli
:D
Read the help file for the plug in. There is a way listed that is supposed to do some fairly nice things although I have not taken the time to test it out. There are a number of steps and I think I would like to see someone else walk through it before I give it a go.
You're coming to UKLEM aren't you?... If you can be patient until then all will become clear. Mark (Insanity) is going to give a few hints and tips on using LivePRO and i'm sure he'll cover the use of the plugin.
With a live audio feed you can do some really cool stuff, and it's great to see the beams pulsating and fading in and out to the beat of the music etc.
Be patient my boy, be patient :D

Yeah, but in this case, the later versions made considerable changes to the visualization engine, and I'm pretty sure Justin's plug-in uses some of the same code. I haven't had any problems with either the Live Pro plug-in or the Laser Visualizer plug in, and I've been running version 5.x for over 18 months now.
This doesn't have anything to do with Pangolin, but there used to be a compatibility problem with 5.29 and Mamba Black a while back. It was fixed with the 1.90 release of Mamba. That's the only problem I remember anyone ever reporting with Winamp as it related to laser shows.
Are these presets that you've come up with yourself? If so, then how about you share the love? :D Upload them to the FTP server!Quote:

Hi Oli;
Yeah, you're probably using it wrong. It *does* syncronize the graphics to the beat if you've got it set up correctly. Jeremy is right: Since the UKLEM is coming up soon, it's probably best if you plan on bringing your rig to the event. That way they can show you how to set it up properly.

Ole Marky is gonna be a busy boy.
LivePro demo, configuring peeps machines, taking part in a multiple laser show .....
Bring on the good times !! :p
cant wait for uklem. sounds like my cup of tea.
is there a plan for the day or is it just whatever happens, happens?
cheers ollie :D
They've always been free and easy but as we want to shoehorn certain events in then I'm guessing we need a loosey goosey agenda.
I'll be the bad guy and put forward the following proposal:;)
10:00 - 12:00 Setup and muck about
12:00 - 13:00 LivePro Demo by Mark
13:00 - 15:00 General Laser Mayhem
15:00 - 17:00 Multiple Synchronised Lasers
17:00 - 18:00 Din Dins at Fluff's Pub (?)
18:00 - Late General Laser Mayhem
Just a starter for ten to run up your flag poles to see if it flutters folks.......
As Mark is intending to do the LivePro demo away from the main hall, folks not interested can naturally continue open eye laser surgery in the main room whilst LivePro noobs ask stoopid questions (merely for the benefit of the Video guy of course). :D
Hi Adam
Thanks for clarifying the other bits and bobs, i'll try the new version and see what happens.
As for the presets, they are just my variations on theme's that are already there (if you dig around a bit and mess about with some values). I just wanted a straight line (when there is no sound), and a wave or osciloscope type trace when sound was present. I have a few variations on this with a varying amount of points and colours. Sure i'll share, it's just that I didn't think they were anything special that's all. Give me a couple of days to fight through the snow to my workshop and i'll upload them :)
Cheers
Jem
Very cool, Jeremy! I'm interested to see what you've changed.
I've messed around with the settings a little bit myself, and I actually had a few modified presets that I really liked. (As you've no doubt discovered, just changing the colors and the beat modifiers a little can make a big difference.) However, I ended up nuking those changes (unintentionally) when I reformatted my drive. (Thought I had it backed up, but nooooo....)
