Default New laser scanner almost complete!

I have been working on this over the last few weeks, and now it is pretty much complete apart from some side panels (Sheet aluminium) and maybe a handle!

    Pics and descriptions: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/203420/Scanner2/index.html

I'm happy with how it turned out

Total cost of the enclosure (- side panels) was only about $50AUD ! However there was a fair bit of work put into it.

And of course, beam pics will come later once the sun is gone

    Me right now:

I am thinking about adding some 405 soonish.

Hey that's looking pretty sweet. Did you have the baseplates and corners cut at a machine shop or did you find them surplus somewhere? How are you going to attach the sides and the handle?

Luckily for me my dad works at a machine shop owned by his mother, so I used some tools there.

The sides will just be screwed onto the angle aluminium, and a handle on top will probably be the same, but with some square or angle alu under it for reinforcement.

Beauty! Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the enclosure comes together.
