    ...

That is most likely 30% chance of a wiring error. 50 % chance of bad linearity adjustment or 10% chance of software settings.

I really doubt the position sensor linearity is messed up that much.... Do NOT touch the LIN pots just yet...

    Lets start at the basics..

    1. Is the Pango built Geo Correction OFF or set to all zeros ????

    2. Is this wired differential or single ended? Is the ground connected on both the projector and Pango or floating?

3 Is this the raw board as received or have you tried to tune it and hit the wrong potentiometer by accident? What exactly have you changed recently, galvos or amp ?? Was this a factory tuned amp with a old galvo????

    4. Is this taken in Metro's " CRAZY GROUND LIFTED ZONE" or your basement????

PM me with a email address and I'll send you a PDF of the full tuning manual from Cambridge, you need to read it before you start...

    Cheers,

    Steve

im using livepro and set to lets say zero. i didt change anything with the wiring.. projector is wired ground in, scanners are not grounded to pin25... i followed ilda wire codes.... im not sure on how to tell if its wired differential or single ended?.. how can i tell???

i think someone tried to tune this bad boy before you and I showed up that day to help out jim... but this is factory amp & scanners matched... and this picture was taken in my basement...

Yeah, IS that the one where the nice fellow was walking up and down the rows of pots trying each one to figure out what they were?? He was trained on Laser Media gear, which doesn't have AGC/Linearity, so he could not have known... If the Geo correction is off, that makes it crosstalk in the wiring, or AGC/Linearity is really misadjusted on one amp..

... In that case, its probably sensor linearity. Its not a test pattern based adjustment, your supposed to calibrate a signal level on the board to precisely half a volt per degree of measured deflection and check/adjust it it for zero position offset as well.

You need a tape measure, some tape, a pencil, a square wave and sine wave generator that can do 30 Hertz, A Oscope , a DC voltmeter, and a laser . If you don't have the Above, you could meet up with Dr Lava, J.L. down in Akron just barely has the gear to do it. It takes about 15 minutes per axis and you will be retouching the tuning a bit when your done.

Bill Benner at Pangolin will usually do it for a Pango customer,at no charge, when he has free time..

What has been maladjusted is most likely the circuit that sets the led current in the position sensor. Its not supposed to be touched once a galvo is matched to the amp at the factory. The field procedure is only ment to be done if you replace a amp or galvo and can't send it back to the factory.. Misadjusted further, it can hurt the galvo..

All the tuning is very much based on the quality of the sensor setup..

PM me with your email, and I'll send you over the book in pdf, or you can call Cambridge and ask for a current PDF of the tuning instructions, either way...

Do you have two wires from Pangolin to each amp or three?
