    Default DT40 Wide Shots

Hey. I was finishing up an RGB projector and I installed a set of the DT40 Wides in there. So I thought I would take some pics and do some quick measurements of sizes.

I had to adjust the scan size down to 80%. LOL. these things scan just stupid wide!!!!

The pics and measurements are with the global projection size set to 80%. No trick photography, nothing special done for the pics.

1- at 31" from the aperture, the scan was 72" wide. (6 feet). again, this is with the master angles set to 80%!!!!

These scanners really are crazy. if you do a lot of beam shows, a wide set is PERFECT!!!! obviously for graphics, the scan angle must be brought drastically lower.

I couldnt even get good pictures, the images were too wide to capture in the frame.

    damn... just, DAMN.

I don't suppose you offer trade-ins for the regular dt-40's?

good silly, the mounting block has had one of the edges cornered to 45 degrees they scan so wide.

couple of points to consider when building with these, distance of the galvo sfrom the case window and size of the window.

i have a project lined up for this year that i want to use these for.

Yeah, I would guess that this might be a serious consideration when building into an existing enclosure. I know that when I rebuilt by projector, I put the scanner block as far forward as I could without the dichro mount and MM1 mount fouling the front of the case, and the aperture is only just big enough for my DT25's. the 'wides' would need me to remodel the front of my housing to accomodate the bigger aperture.

I think the DT-40W's are the best thing I've bought for my projector. They are MEGA. I've been running them for a few months now.
    (Ta Rob!)

Recently I've had to re-bore out the aperture on the front of my projector to 3", as I was getting sick of projecting mostly on the inside of my case at >60% size.
The mounting block is flush with the front panel too...
I run them at exactly 90 deg @100%, but have pushed them to about 97 degrees on occasion just for the hell of it. The limiting factor seemed to be the amp gain...

Great pictures!! My next projector will be with those because of the widescan angle and also the beamheight is 19mm to hit the galvo,s and because my lasers are viasho and the beamheight is 20mm this combination is perfect.

    Default Performance difference?

Assuming limiting the scan area of a DT40W to the same dimensions as a DT40, is there any speed or accuracy loss between DT40W and DT40?

In general I'm curious what the difference is between the various galvo's Cambridge, DT40, Scan30LSP. If you run them all at 30k, what's the difference between them?

    Mike
