Default Power Supply for Spectra Physics 106-1 HeNe - built in January 1988

Rob kindly tested my 10mW HeNe last week and proved that it works fine - but the 'black-brick' power supply it originally came with became immersed in water during a basement flooding and somewhat later when I switched it on ............. BANG!

Does anyone have a spare power supply (240v ac) - I'm not sure of the striking and running voltages and current - but I guess someone knows

I dont want to spend a lot of money on this bit as I have no immediate need for the HeNe - but without a power supply I can't even think of putting the laser to use

Welcome hearing from anyone re the voltage and current requirements and also from anyone who has a suitable 'black brick'

John - PS have a peep on my website to see the holograms I make with my lasers! - www.jmshome.demon.co.uk

Hi All - I'm raising this enquiry again - does no-one have a suitable 'black brick' type PSU that would power-up my little 106 - 1

    Cool

I don't have anything that will run off 240 volts, but you might be able to get by with a 12 VDC powered unit. Have you looked at Meridith Instruments yet? Also, E-bay is a good source for cheap power supplies. (Search for Hene power)

I have a nice REO LPS-115 lab style power supply, which should run your tube just fine. It is for a 12mw tube, and is rated for 2700v/6.5mA. I am asking $40 for it.

edit - as the part number suggests this supply is currently wired for 115v, but I can reconfigure it for 220v if you purchase it (it is a jumper change)

Thank you so much for your reply and yes I am interested in your PSU

What would postage costs be to North Yorkshire in the UK

I have a PayPal account so could pay via that route if OK
