    Back to earth I go...

My brother is out of the hospital and doing well, he stated thanks for all your concern.

Today, on the way to ship a laser to norway for liteglow....

I parked my car infront of the post office and this lady was pulling out of her parking spot and hit the front right of my car with her back left bumper. Please remember that my car was not moving, it was in park with a friend in the passenger seat... i am a white male, the person who hit my car was a black female and the officer in question was a female also...

    http://photonlexicon.com/hostedcontent/fr-car.jpg

Thats what my car looks like now... wonderful...

And the icing on the cake, the cop said, and I quote " I dont see how its her fault, you were illgally parked. concidering you were illegally parked where you were, I can understand her NOT having to look for your car when pulling out."

This officer... i think she hates men... she immedieatly started on me the second she got out of the car with this "look at me, I am a woman in authority, i have bigger balls than you, bow down" shit.

She went over to the girl who hit me and started asking her "if she was ok, is there anything she can do to help her, what happened?"

I got a ticket, the lady who HIT A STATIONARY OBJECT left smiling....

Im not done with this one... Someone will be issuing me an apology letter for this blatant disrepect of law.

    Whew... Glad im done ranting...

Ok, back to the forum... I am working on it... I think I may have found a few hacks to get the gallery software to work correctly and I will soon be commissioning the creators of this forum "skin" to do minor modifications for me.

Ive got a few Ideas for offering members here a weblog to post their journals and what not. so yea... bear with me... its been a crazy couple of weeks...

EDIT: Ohh yea, the lights are bent and the hood is no longer square with the rest of the car. Its a 3000gt, fast car, and is accordingly designed to explode on impact while maintianing "road integrity" Its quite a neat car

    Spec:
In FL, there's this little thing called a "No-Fault Law"

Remember when I first barged in here and kindasorta shattered the mold on femininity?

Well, there are still fragments from the original mold...I will admit that my driving skills are less than ideal when it comes to a Ford F250 truck vs. a (I forget model, I remember it was a 6-cyl with a fiberglass body...) stationary car parked in street blocking driveway...

No tickets were issued, insurances were swapped, my premiums jumped a bit, but he got his car fixed.

Eeesh...that cop needed to take her Midol!

And the other driver: as a female, I can safely state that she should damned well have been held liable...there was a passenger in your car (reckless endangerment, anyone??)

It may cost a bit to fix the tix tho...having had my paint swapped a time or few and pulled powerbrake-into-parking spots and other fool stunts with more manuverable vehicles, I know that for a fact.

(Why do I have a bad feeling that I just lost my position in the "one of the guys" category?)

My shut up now. Keep us posted

    Hey Spec

Good to hear about you brother, sorry to hear about the car. I hate things like this, but at least I know US law enforcement is as bad sometimes as in the UK.

One point I would make is when a police car pulls up to an incident (stopping a speeding car, stopping at the scene of an assult) the officers tend to abandon the car at the earliest possible moment paying little attention as to whether its properly parked or not. From your experience it seems all these stationary illegaly parked police cars are legitimate targets ! If a car hit them would they write a ticket to themselves ?

What would have happened to a pedestrian, maybe a child, who was walking where your car was parked....The comparisons are endless, but unfortantly they all assume "common sense", and I think this is where you might find a problem.

You could even consider asking my passanger if they had developed any back problems since the knock in the car. Then seek advice from an injury lawer, the next logical step would be the accident report, this would then bring the actions of the officer into view and at this point I belive the police might reconsider the officers interpration of the law.

As I get older now I just tend to walk away from this type of thing, but if you do take a note of the officers name, and come the revolution.......
