Default Looking for recommendations for "portable" laser stands...

For the folks who use their laser projectors commercially (for "small scale" events that don't require hiring a crew to rig a full lighting grid) -

Do you have any recommendations for shelf units or portable scaffolding that would be suitable for supporting 2 or 3 projectors?
I'm looking for something that could be broken down and transported with the rest of the gear in the back of a small pickup truck.

I've been using a modified speaker tripod mount for the home shows and SELEM, but I'm ready to step up to something more substantial / acceptable / safer for a couple of potential events on the horizon.

    Thanks!

    Hey Randy-

contact Andrew/DLS on here. He has some bad-ass seriously rugged stands for lasers. They very easily hold *steady* a fully loaded LT1000.

They are fold out type stands. I honestly dont know pricing though.

I use one of these for LEM's and small events, it is good for the money and not too pricy... http://www.envirel.de/product_info.p...ss-System.html

On each of the tripod legs there is a bolt hole, so you can bolt them to the stage where possible. One of the legs extends for mounting on uneven surfaces and the whole thing is pretty hefty. I modified the trussing part slightly by bolting 2" steel pipe to the bottom...

It has happily held 5 lasers including my big RGB, alongside a 3 KW sound system vibrating away, with no problems... Wouldn't use it at a bigger event though...

Here are some pics, so you can see the mods...

    American DJ ST-132.

    Nuff said.

I've been using those tripods to hoist lighting rigs of ~50kg and 6m wide safely, they have a maximum load of 85kg each (WLL), so they'd be able to keep your average laser up nicely. Wouldn't recommend lifting an ion rig or Laserscope though

You can try cheaplights.com. They have a some decent crank stand & truss packages. It's essentially no-name dj gear, but they'll certainly hold the weight and they are on par with American DJ & Chauvet. The stands are all essentially 10 foot cranks. For maximum height, get the one with a triangle truss adapter because it sits on top of the pole. You'll lose nearly a foot with the ladder truss set up. If you call them, they sometimes have 13 foot cranks and they are very affordable.

If you want bigger stands, go to farralane.com and then call them. Ask for Mike or Sean (owners) and ask about preferred pricing. I've dealt with them for years and they are very good guys. Bigger stands & trussing get way pricier, but having 17+ footers is really nice.
