    Hmmm?

    Bottom plate: 5mm alu.
    Sides and top: 3mm alu.
Magic middle: 10mm alu breadboard, M6 threaded , 25mm spacing.

External measure: 506 x 255. (Should add 5mm feet tho, so make it 260)
I'm also going to add some profiles around all the outer corners and edges to make it look pwetty

    Internal measure:
    "lower floor": W: 500mm, D: to be decided, H: 120mm.
    "top floor": W: 500mm, D: to be decided, H: 117mm.
Plenty of room for 5x prototype module housings, leaving 110x80mm for scanners.
Could fit a bunch more modules if I add internal vertical walls, and even more at 90deg angle behind the visible ones in the pic. (13 total)

Photon emitting window: 36mm circle cutout. -Is that enough btw? Should I make it square?

Made a temporary mount for 6x aixiz modules today, the "standard thick alu block with 12mm holes in it".
Also managed to find and repair a sweet psu. 115/230Vac in, 30Vdc 2,6A / 26Vdc 6A / 15Vdc 10A out, 1/3 the size of the monster psu I had earlier, and 1/10 of the weight =).

Made a schematic and PCB layout for a tec thermostat that will fit in the prototype mount I hope to be able to make a bunch of.
12-24Vdc in, range and temp setting via pots, and another separate pot for hysteresis compensation.
PCB without fiddly smd's is just 30x30mm, single sided (!). Smd's and dual layer = tiny!

Edit: no, L1 is not a coil. No tec's in multisim... L1 on the pcb layout is the TEC connection, and R5 is for the (remote) 10k ntc thermistor.

Been very busy lately... Got my 30mW greenie in the mail today, works nicely. -Going to be dismantled and put in a mount for the build.
Making some prototype driver pcb's tomorrow, and ordering a few 400Mhz op-amps and some other fun stuff. Hopeful to be able to start mounting and aligning some beams soon, though there is the matter of galvos/steppers to deal with still...

Built 2x really simple but sturdy drivers to test salvaged LD's with, and salvaged uhmm... I think it was eight or 9 LD's from various discarded dvd-r/rw/cd-r/rw drives. Will be testing them tomorrow after checking the drivers' reliability.
Also stumbled across some very odd-looking old LD's from some old pioneer cd-players, they look like some kind of mini-SOT220. Will add pics tomorrow as well... If I can find time for it. The dreaded in-laws are visiting over the weekend

That layout looks good man, nice work. If you want me to verify your schematic, send it to me.

Will do! Never hurts to get it double-checked .
