hey martin i have to agree with some of what electro freak is saying
you could word your responses a little better,
its good that you belive in kvant ,
but when you answer a question like(will the new greens be used as a replacement in the lower powerd projector) with well yeah thats the whole point, comes across as arrogant, and thats just not you,
just a simple yes they will would have gone down a lot better , its the little things like this that people will not like just a bit of carfull wording and you will do better
    just my 10p worth

C'mon guys, I think we are being a bit rough on people lately...

I know Martin's sales techniques could be seen as cut throat, but hey, that's what a good salesman is trained to do... Maybe a forum is not the best place to be selling, but at least we are the first to know about these new products.... Take these new greens for example, it is now public knowledge that Kvant is producing green lasers with 0.4mrad divergence way cheaper than the like of Quantum for example. Surely this can only encourage other company's to produce a better product at a lower price, and then guess what? We start to see better and more affordable lasers... Woo hooo As Kvant already have a great reputation they have no real need to fabricate specs, like certain other companies (cough, laserworld)...

Another thing to consider is the cultural thing, we are on a Worldwide network and English is not everybody's first language. I work all over the world and the different cultures take a lot of getting used to, so I don't think it's so much a case of being condescending, as it is a case of use of language... A good example is Dutch and English (No offence guys). The first time I had a meeting in Amsterdam, I couldn't believe how rude the guy was, but it is Dutch culture to say exactly what you think, whereas the English keep quiet through fear of offending someone. I have a lot of Dutch friends and have to admit, I prefer the straight talking attitude...

Another example is English and Japanese. In Japan it is expected that you stand very close when talking, this is considered polite, whereas here in sunny England we consider it as invading our personal airspace, unless of course it's a gorgeous woman....

Anyway, I don't want to start a bunfight here, but I think we need to cut a few people a bit of slack and remember that we are communicating with many different cultures...

    Sorry for the rant

On another note, I have bought two lasers from Martin at different times and can honestly say that the service was outstanding on both occasions... My 640nm was delivered a week early and when it arriived the laser was not working properly, I phoned Martin, he called Kvant and within less than 15 minutes my laser was working perfectly. The problem was down to a couple of components that had got bent and were touching. My 445nm also arrived earlier than expected...

    Just my 2p

I think it depends on the reader to some extent though.
When Martin said 'thats the point' I read it as 'thats the reason why these new ones were developed', not 'Duh, numbnuts, of course thats why we did it!'
If you're looking for the bad in text, you'll surely be able to find something, thats why internet arguments are so easy, as its so easy to pick holes.

There's no reason why we would developed and released something what we can buy from China. That would be pointless and stupid. Obviously the good modulation was one of the main goals.
^An attempt to make the question look dumb. Obviously nothing.. show me the money.

^Unprofessional and rude response, also condescending: "I don't have to prove anything". Responding professionally to a rude question really goes a long way toward making others see that you are a good businessman.

And as Norty said, my response to you is not solely based on your responses in this thread. If you would like me to assemble a collection of various responses by you throughout this forum on which I have based my impression of you, I would be happy to. Just let me know. And yes, I know that many other people here have posted rude posts in the past (something that I am also guilty of) but those people are usually not here for business purposes. It's far more crucial to maintain professionalism when you're the businessman instead of the potential customer.

A possible future customer would *obviously* not have done business with you in the past, which is why people's impressions of you are very important. There is nothing wrong with believing in your products at all. There is something wrong with a superiority complex. My intention in these posts is to make you aware that impressions are everything, not to attack you. You represent your own business, so I would think you would understand that.

But whatever... I've said my bit. I know I'm not the only member here who has formed a somewhat negative opinion of you. If that doesn't matter to you, there's little I can say or do that will matter. IF there has been a language barrier issue here, then I apologize profusely. I assume you are a native English speaker based on your location.

EDIT: You're definitely right badger, I haven't really given anyone time to supply the requested profile. I just assumed that it wasn't forthcoming since there has been no response in the affirmative.

I am Czech and have been in the UK for 9 years, but never did English language course. I am working closely with KVANT, becouse I am here and we understand each other perfectly becouse it used to be Czechoslovakia.

I never set I am good businessman or so.. I am definitely NOT from that point of view... If you are unpolite with no reason, I will kick your arse and I don't care who you are and how much I could make out of it if I would let you piss on my head.

But I am fair and if asked nicely, I will do everything I can to solve or help with whatever is needed.

However, THIS THREAD IS ABOUT NEW KVANT 532nm MODULES - not about your frustrations or about me. Its purpose is to INFORM, NOT TO SELL OR PROVE!!! Time will prove it!

And that speaks volumes to me and any other conscientious potential customer. It takes real tact to make a bad situation better instead of worse, and a desire to do so is what defines a respectable business.

Given the fact that you are Czech, I apologize if I have misunderstood you in past posts. It's certainly possible. I know I didn't misunderstand the above post.

Now back to the lasery goodness..

Great! Looking forward to seeing it with my own eyes.

Modulation will be thoroughly tested and compared against both CNI and Laserwave. Hopefully it will put them to shame.

Testing is what this forum is about. I love a good test and look forward to the result. I have to say I know little of the technical side of the specs posted so far, but Kvant have a reputation for quality so I'd expect this to be up there. Can't wait to see Tockets result (hopefully in nicely explained non tech terms for us tech spec dummies - I get beam size, power and divergence and thats about it for me personally!).

Now that we got the language issues out of the way. I am really curious about this new lasers and will check them out at the Frankfurt show. I have had messages of other people from the Netherlands (yup, were the straight talkin' Dutch guys !) that they also are going. Hopefully some other people are also there so we can all see the new good stuff and post about it here. 0.4mrad sure sounds impressive to me.

Let us know in my other post under LEM's if you are going to Frankfurt as well, maybe we can meet and look at all the new stuff together ?
    I didn't fail !
I just found out 10,000 ways that didn't work.
