    For making ilda cables, what is your favorite 25 pole sub-D back shell, and why ?

    I just buy complete sealed cables, I have found prefab sealed cables are more reliable then own made cables.

    in the UK you can get them very cheap now.

    The soldering of prefab cables really makes me sad. Yes, the do work, yes they're tested, but the way they're thrown together doesn't make me feel warm and cosy inside. If you know a cable that uses crimped contacts for sure, let me know. Besides that, these printer cables have their shield connected to their chassis, not to pin 25 as I would prefer.

    Soo, I decided to use these backshells, affordable, sturdy, metal, easily secured with fingers, selectable strain relief.
