Have you confirmed the absence of IR? I was under the impression CNI didn't usually add IR filters to higher power lasers unless specifically asked to...

Nice vids BTW.. Nothing is more satisfying than lots of whitelight.. Tell me, in the second video, one of the patterns looks like it has blue noise, or is that the pattern?

McCarrot from on here sells CNI 457nm on his web site. I haven't seen these myself but gather they have nice beam specs and a deep blue colour not disimilar to 445 but with greater luminosity. However, as this is hearsay, I recommend you speak to him.

CNI quote the beam as being TEM01!

I've never seen Rick's 5 watt RGB on a power meter, but I have seen it in person. I have also seen Laser Spectacular's 4 watt RBG. Rick's is defiantly more powerful and has better white.

Yes, I am sure. When I saw how much power it was on the meter that was the first thing I checked.

It was just the pattern, there is no noise in the 457nm...

The show was ok, but not enough turnout and the promoter tried to short me on pay, so I took his Turntables.... (Would have been a good deal, but I already have a pair and really needed the money)

Damn sketchy promoters! Sucks that you got screwed.

When I started out in lighting I got shafted so many times, I can't even tell you. Nowadays, I require a deposit and the balance to be paid up front in cash before I'll unload a single piece of gear. I make that abundantly clear before the show.

When I threw my own parties, I never did anything I didn't have the cash to do beforehand, so everyone got paid regardless of my loss.

So, what's the going price of a 457 now?, last time I looked (about 6 months ago) they were still very expensive. If you don't want to post the price directly on PL please PM me.

Hi Jem,
yes well relatively speaking they are more affordable
compared to what they use to be. Instead of your wallet going into cardiac arrest and dying on the way to hospital it will now recover after a few months of rest and light duties.
For a quick idea have a look on lasershowparts.com
and choose the currency you want to see the price in.
They are roughly 25% more expensive than 445 but considering the generous
overspecs CNI are known for per milliwatt they are pretty good.
